My sister is getting married early Jan and I thought for Christmas I might get her something beauty related for the big day. I'm considering Dior Glow Maximiser primer (read good things about it in the paper) any alternative suggestions?

She'll be doing her own make up and I want something that will add a touch of luxary to the occasion/help her feel amazing. My budget is ideally £20 but not more than £30. Thanks!

What about a makeup lesson at Mac in Selfridges, if you're near London? If she's doing her own makeup that would be a lovely treat and helpful too.

I don't think I'd buy someone else makeup unless it was just a lippy or eyeshadow palette tbh, it's so personal.

I've read bad reviews of the Dior Glow Maximizer Light Boosting Primer - I wouldn't buy it unless I had been given a sample first. It look amazing on some skin types and tones, but on others it will not look right at all.

I'd get a nice powder in a lovely refillable compact or a lipstick. Or a nail polish. Or a really nice brush. All things that will last for a good while and will (hopefully) remind her of you and a lovely wedding day.

Guerlain, Chanel, Dior and Laura Mercier make lovely lipsticks. Guerlain, Dior and Chanel make classic nail polishes - I prefer Guerlain and Dior over Chanel as they last longer on my nails and the brush is better.

In similar circumstances I bought my sister some brushes. I found Boots No7 individual brushes good quality and value, and they were on 3for2 that year so I could get quite a few, think I used the No7 vouchers from other Boots shopping too. I made a brush wrap to keep them in, which she seemed very touched by.

Be very careful of brush gift sets, the year I was buying the No7 set brushes were not as nice as the individual ones. That might have changed of course.
