Whistles - quality

Always been a big fan of Whistles although only buy in the sale / eBay.

My last couple of purchases have not been great quality though - a dress which has bobbled badly and a linen top which has torn (the actual fabric, not the seam). I'm pretty sure I haven't caught it on anything the material just seems to have fallen apart.

Anyone else found this?

Yes, I love the Whistles Selma dress, but after only a few wears the fabric has gone and there are holes in it. When I was looking at them in store loads of them had holes.

Really gutting when you spend that much!

Yes it's the Selma Jersey Bodycon dress I have problems with. No holes in it (yet!) but fabric is really bobbly. Also uncomfortable to wear as lining keeps riding up.

I was deliberately trying to buy better quality clothes that will last, but seems Whistles high prices don't guarantee the quality.

Thankfully I picked up my Selma dress in the sale for around £40 (very end iftar sale) but would be furious if I had paid the full price of £125!

It's not worth buying whistles any more. I agree the quality isn't great nowadays.

I bought a grey cashmere jumper at end of summer sale - only paid £45 but after only a few wears it has bobbled very badly. I am not impressed. Would be raging if I had paid full price. I've already downgraded it to lounge wear. I won't buy cashmere from them again.

I only ever buy Whistles clothes with a discount code or in the sale as I think the prices are crazy. Having said that, I have three skirts, two silk shirts and two sweaters from Whistles that I wear for work week in week out, and which have held up brilliantly over the past 12-18 months I have worn them.

I do really really hate their use of polyester though - it's not 'luxe crepe', it's sweaty, horrible polyester.

Yes me too. Bought an expensive cashmere and silk mix jumper last year, beautiful colour and thought I was 'investing'......it looked like a bobbly dishrag after one wear, even before washing. Shockingly bad quality.
I concede their tube skirts are quite good but only with a discount code, not worth full price.

Their jeans are still great quality and fit well.
