Waxing (and trimming)

Hello. Maybe a silly question but I've never had a bikini line wax before (use immac). However I'm 36 weeks pregnant so can't see a thing.

Everything's a bit overgrown. Would they ordinarily do a trim as well for the hair which is remaining or should I ask DH to do that.

They've never trimmed mine when I have a wax. Maybe a trim before you go?

Trim before you go.

scaevola · 19/10/2014 17:36

Any particular reason why you can't just let it be for a while?

TickleMyTitsTillFriday · 19/10/2014 19:11

Maybe she doesn't want to scaevola?

scaevola · 19/10/2014 19:29

Perhaps so indeed. But if as nature intended now (which is how I read OP) then why change?

The final weeks of PG are not generally a good time to wax for the first time, and the likely micro-abrasions are sometimes a route of infection which is really a bad thing. Not to mentioned extra engorgement which means greater sensitivity and, for some, pain. Compulsory depilation during labour persisted in some British hospitals right into the 1980s (Libby Purves and others wrote about this) but there really is no medical need whatsoever.

I didn't read it that she has left it as nature intended till now. Just that she can't see to use the immac.

Hi all.

Thanks all and Scaevola, I'm always interested to hear all opinions.

It's just getting a little bit untidy and I do like to keep it a bit neater. Nothing to do with preparing for labour.

Cool, I'll sort a trim out. Now where's DH and my nail scissors...? Confused
