Banana Republic sizing....advice please

I love BR clothing and have a few bits from which are US size 2 (I am a smallish 8 in most shops but a 6 in Next and some other shops where sizing seems bigger). I want to buy from BR UK website and am confused as to which size might be equivalent to. US 2.....does anyone know at all?

I think they come up very small.

Their trousers are huge. I am a UK 10 and can easily fit into a size US 4 or even a 2.

I've had dresses and jackets that come up very small. Not tried trousers.

They come up large IME and they are definitely larger than GAP; I take an 18 in their trousers and a 14 or 16 in BR, depending on the cut/Lycra content. I'm a 'true' size 16, on my hips/waist and a 14 on top, for reference.

If you are a US 2 then you want a UK 6 in BR I reckon. I am a US 8 in BR and take a UK 12

Ok so I am a uk 6 and I have BR clothes in 00, 0 and 2. There sizing is just not consistent I have current season trousers same style but different colour ways and needed a different size in black and navy ... I'm afraid you just have to try. Returns are free tho

I'm 5ft. I take a size 6 in Next and M&S and a 6 or an 8 in Topshop and H&M. In Gap I take a 25 waist in Jeans and an XS.
I was in the BR store on Regent St recently. I agree their sizing does not seem consistent. I don't like things super tight.
I needed the following items in the following sizes which might give you a guide:
Trench coat XS
Jumper XS
Sleeveless silk blouse XXS
Fitted shirt UK6
Trousers UK4 (appeared v generous)

Us2 is a uk6.

I find the sizing variable. I always hve to size down on tops but most other things are my regulAr size
