Help, need a dress for an interview

I haven't bough any new clothes for ages because I feel horrible in my body right now and I also haven't done an interview in a very long time so really need something I can feel confident in. I am only 5ft 1 and I have a horrible pot belly and a pretty big bum. My waist is quite narrow though so I need something very forgiving to my bottom half. I quite like fifties stuff for the flair on the skirts/dresses. I hate anything that clings to my tummy obviously. I am crap at finding clothes but I really want this job so am in need of help!

What's the job?

What's your budget?

How do you feel about something like this?

plotmissinginaction · 18/10/2014 21:59

That's nice but it will my arse look huge, I'm such a weird shape.

I would spend up to a
£80 although less would be better!

It's a teaching job but in a college not a school and it's an arts department.

50s style with full skirt- would look good with a black cropped blazer.

tethersend · 18/10/2014 22:09

plain shift would be good with black opaques and shoes and a long pendant.

50s Style again

over budget

tethersend · 18/10/2014 22:15

this would be a decent length on you, not like on the 6' model...

Philoslothy · 18/10/2014 22:18

I love those first two, sadly have no job to justify buying them.

try H&M - I'm quite tempted by this one www.hm.com/gb/product/46993?article=46993-D#article=46993-D

Wow, speedy work! I wouldn't know where to start. Would never have thought to look at Matalan, that last one is really sweet. I like the Lindy hop one too although might be a tad posh. I'll have to check my local Matalan out!

Matalan are on fire at the moment.

tethersend · 18/10/2014 22:32

Figuratively, of course Grin

I'd definitely go for something fit and flare. What is your bust size like?

plotmissinginaction · 19/10/2014 10:06

I'm about a 32 C I think, not been measured in a while.
