Dyeing Wedding Dress?

Thinking about colouring my dress to something I can wear again. Not a meringue, but a short Monsoon dress. I think it's a cotton based lace with a few layers underneath. (Knee length fitted) This one uk.monsoon.co.uk/view/product/uk_catalog/mon_4,mon_4.1/3531144618

Anyone had experience of doing this - successfully?

The key question is what are the layers underneath made from?

SewCraftyLou · 16/10/2014 17:30

Lining 100% polyester, Composition 71% nylon 29% polyester
Care dry-clean

As it's all man-made materials dyeing won't be successful. And as it's dry clean only, not sure dunking it in water will turn out well either.

Best thing to do maybe is add some jewels or trim to it?? Accessorise it instead?

Thank you, not sure whether to chance it or not? It is already trimmed around the neck. Smile
