Foundation - does this exist?

I'm looking for somnething high coverage, oil free and light reflecting but can't find one.

It has to be oil free because all moisturising foundations make me spotty. High coverage because I need it and light reflecting so it doesn't settle into my dry bits and fine lines. I'm making myself sound lovely, I know!

I have used Estee Lauder doublewear for years but I'm now finding it a bit mask like.

Any recommendations? Thanks!

I have just bought and worn Guerlain Lingerie de Peau powder foundation. I wore it all day today, out in wind and rain, and it still looks perfect. Matte because I prefer that look, and great for oily skin, easy to touch up. Makes me look all glowy too.

I haven't managed to get to town yet Eliza, definitely next week. I have to, I'm running out!

That's interesting foolssilver, thanks. Unfortunately we don't have any Guerlain stockists near us.

I did find one that looks perfect, it's a Sisley one but unfortunately that might be pushing it a bit money wise.

Ok I decided to try the Lancôme one. Looks good so far.

I bought a blusher too as I'm almost out and ended up with a decent free gift. There is a make up bag, mini mascara, full sized cleanser, lots of potions and a lipstick. I also managed to talk the teenaged boy(!) behind the counter to give me a decent sample of primer.

I blame you for being £57 poorer Eliza!

Thanks for all the suggestions Smile

I don't suppose anyone who has switched from EDW to the Lancôme used to be "bone" with EDW and could recommend a good shade match? Thanks!

MeganChips · 26/10/2014 18:47

Me! I have gone to 01 which is the palest one.

Anyone know if you are a Fresco in ELDW what Lancome shade would I be?

prettymel · 27/10/2014 03:23

I suggest you to put a primer first it will hold the foundation longer. Try some Laura Mercier products, YSL, Chanel and other brands. You can also try Mac foundation or smashbox products.

Thanks megan Smile

Oh, well done there Megan! Excellent choice and I'm 01 and find it light enough but with a glow (as oppose to EL Bone....made me look deathly and I then needed loads of products on top to bring me into the land of the living!). I had a primer sample but only used it once. I prefer the foundation alone as I've good skin and the whole idea of it is "inner light/glow" as oppose to dead pan matte. They have other foundations (Tient Idole) for matte.

Nice to get a freebie gift too! Hope you like it. £57 well spent!

I really recommend Astalift light analysing foundation (Japanese brand).

Coverage is full and very buildable. Very light reflecting. Says it's actually light analysing so adjusts to light. I don't really understand that, though it's made by company who make Fuji film, so they may well be right.

I've looked at ingredients list and can't see an obvious oil ingredient but could be wrong.

I recently started using it and bsolutely love it for my originally very pale but now rosacea red and bumpy skin. Really covers, but doesn't look heavy because of its reflective properties. I've even had compliments when wearing it about my skin looking nice. Nowadays that's very rare - I normally get sympathy thanks to the rosacea!

If you were interested, the colours run very light (catering for Japanese skin). It comes in 5 shades I think. I'm 'ivory' shade, which is number 4 on the scale, with only 'sand' darker!

Sorry didn't see your last post about getting the Lancôme one. Sounds good.

Eliza22 · 29/10/2014 10:31

Great! I went to John Lewis yesterday to buy the Lancome. None in stock in my shade. "They're discontinuing it" said the sales assistant. WHY DO THEY DO THIS?

MeganChips · 29/10/2014 18:06

Noo! Can you order it?

Try the Astalift.

I'm currently in love with Bourjois Healthy serum - it actually makes my prone-to- break-out-but-with-wrinkles skin look smooth and dewy
