Merrell Haven, 3rd winter and counting...

I bought a Merrell Haven on MN's recommendation in 2012 and I thought I'd report back for those who are wondering how they hold up , as I got it back out today for the first time.

Firstly, looks wise the material is as good as new. I've never needed to wash it yet so can't report on that but it's still in good nick. I caught a seam near the collar which opened up but looks fine with a couple of stitches in.

It's still waterproof though I might invest in some of that spray stuff this year. It's held up to high winds, rain and snow well. In real downpours I have had wet patches where my elbows are bent pushing the pushchair but I'm talking true drenchers!

It is very very warm. I have to wear light clothes underneath except in the coldest of weather otherwise you overheat. On a freezing day you will be toasty after about five minutes walking.

The cuffs were super tight at first but have loosened up. The hood is really too big for me but I do have a tiny head.

All in all I'm pleased with my investment and it should still last for years to come.

I've washed mine in nikwax and it came up a treat.
Haven't got it out yet (tomorrow I think) but was interested to note that a teacher at ds' school has one too :)
