Grey or navy tights?

I am thinking about moving to winter tights for work, and having bought a pair of nude Wolfords during summer when I got a ladder, I am totally sold on them - really pricey but worth it!

So I want to invest in some opaques and was wondering, for my blue (navy) dresses, are grey or navy tights the way to go?

I'd go for grey, just because navies can be so difficult to match, and even if you do match, head-to-toe navy can look a bit too "uniform". Also I like grey tights with navy.

How do we feel about patterned tights, herringbone or something...
