Ok. I'm about ten years in. This year I want wind proof outdoorsy trousers. Maybe waterproof. That make me look OSSOM. I know. I know. Anyone?

Not sure waterproof, wind proof and chic is doable.

Thermals under your normal trousers?

BettyMoody · 12/10/2014 19:54

They just end up so chunky and unwieldy. I'm thinking walking type trews

I picked up some insulated ski trousers from The North Face in the sale for my upcoming trip to Iceland they are not TOO hideous.

Thermal tights will keep you warm.

Thermal tights under your trousers
Ugg insoles in your boots, you get the warmth without the ugliness
Down coat
Faux fur hat with ear flaps
Cashmere lined leather gloves, M&S have them this year

Ok I am NOT a touch line mum BUT I do volunteer for several local sports teams as a medic. So I do spend many a day stood in the rain / wind etc.

Last year I dug out my old snowboarding pants and lived in them! Plan to do the same this year I have the pair like these they are slim fit so don´t look massive and quite flattering. Keep me nice and toasty but let me move about easily. Also have these nikita Dreamland

Top half I layer up! Tend to do silk roll neck under a long line sweater with a big open sort of roll next normally cashmere or merino or a combination of the two so they are not thick layers. I have a Napapijri Adrianne Gilet (ladies) gilet with hood that goes over the top. I take my stable / riding winter coat with me that keep me dry no matter what the weather does.

On my feet I wear these snow boots or Muck boots

Good ski socks, a pair of gloves wind and waterproof gloves (might seem over kill but I need to keep my hands warm and dry etc) and a warm hat, keep me warm and comfy with out look a total prat.

I´ve also found that I can managed with fleece lined tights (got mine in Canada but you can get them on line) under skinny jeans tucked into my tevalenawee snow boots. I take these waterproof over trousers which I just pull on over my boots when it looks iffy.
