Dior Star Foundation: brilliant!!

Just thought I'd share:

Bought this a few days ago having read & heard good reviews.

It is fab. Long-lasting, great coverage but feels light on the skin. Makes the skin look all glowing too & feels moisturising.

I also bought Dior blusher in Rosy Glow. Looks alarmingly Barbie pink in the palette but looks great on - a healthy, fresh glow and again lasts all day.

Is it good for oily/combo skin too?

LiquidCosh · 11/10/2014 23:37

I use Dior Forever foundation at the minute as they discontinued the one I used previously (can't remember the name) I don't like it at all as it makes my dry skin even drier looking and my face looks blotchy. I might try the Star one when this one is done. What age are u OP if you don't mind me asking?
Also second the recommendation for Rosy Glow blusher it goes on lovely so don't be put off by its pinkness!!

Ujjayi · 12/10/2014 00:12

Yazzy - not sure tbh. I have normal to dry skin.

LiquidCosh - I'm 43.

Apparently you can get a free 7-day sample from Dior counters to try. I didn't bother as I was so impressed with the "makeover" by the assistant so just bit the bullet & bought the full size.

oh that's a good idea, will try and get a sample, reviews are all amazing for this one it seems

LoadsaBlusher · 12/10/2014 08:19

Totally agree , I'm converted too
Got some sample sachets and tried it first last week .
I was needing something a bit more luminous and this feels great on and agree the coverage is great
Just waiting for a beauty event in Debenhams to get the full size with 10% off !

MarshaBrady · 12/10/2014 08:31

Good stuff, I'm about to buy a new foundation will check out this one.

georgie22 · 12/10/2014 10:43

I bought this last week and am impressed. They were doing 1000 advantage card points in Boots (worth £10) with 2 products so so just had to buy a lip gloss too!

yazzy85 · 14/10/2014 16:49

I got a test pot of this foundation today after being matched in Boots and have to agree with you ladies its amazing and surprisingly really good on my oily skin too! Looking forward to buying the full size soon.

Ujjayi · 14/10/2014 17:12

That's great & good feedback to know it is working for a range of skin types.

I didn't like it much. Had such high hopes. 39 with oily t-zone. Kind of heavy and cakey on me even when applied with a beauty blender sponge. I much prefer Dior Nude or Forever. This one didn't last very long on me either. I preferred the YSL Fusion Ink.

yazzy85 · 14/10/2014 18:17

Quinn did you try with a primer under and setting powder ontop? The lady at Boots applied mine with a sponge too after primer and lightly dusted powder ontop. I find it looks more natural than the double wear I was using previously.

Whippet81 · 14/10/2014 21:46

I tried it yesterday - only foundation for a long time I have thought 'wow'.

Arlagirl · 14/10/2014 21:49

I bought last week but assistant sold me totally the wrong shade.
I went to a different Dior counter who matched me perfectly and exchanged original purchase.

yazzy85 · 15/10/2014 11:57

did you guys have them shade match you with the machine device thing? if so was the colour a good match?

hydeparkhottie · 15/10/2014 12:00

I love Dior! The skinflash pen is the best thing I've ever used for my undereyes. Forget Tom Ford, YSL or Bobby. Dior is the way to go for me this past year.

Arlagirl · 15/10/2014 19:44

Yazzy....not in my experience. They totally got it wrong first time.
2nd time got it right

yazzy85 · 15/10/2014 20:31

thanks chamade, I got matched in store but not 100% sure under outdoor lighting

Ujjayi · 15/10/2014 23:22

My shade was matched with the gadget. However, she also applied all over my face & we walked out of the store to view in natural light too.

Ooh I've been looking at this. Do you know if it's oil free?

Arlagirl · 16/10/2014 15:38

Having worn it for a few days I'm not that impressed.

yazzy85 · 16/10/2014 17:46

chamade what are you finding wrong with it? Is it the lasting power? I am still playing with the sample they gave out, haven't yet bought full bottle

Arlagirl · 16/10/2014 21:00

Yes. Just doesn't last.

yazzy85 · 17/10/2014 10:14

chamade have you tried estee lauder double wear light? I got a sample of it along with the star foundation. It's lighter than the original double wear and quite good for lasting power.

Arlagirl · 18/10/2014 09:16

NoI havwbt...may ask for a sample.
Tried once more with Star last night...hate it.
