Colouring hair same day as washing & conditioning?

I've washed & conditioned my hair this morning. I've got a semi-permanent colour use, would the results be the same if I was to apply the colour tonight or tomorrow?

I know sometimes they say on the instructions on some hair dyes if the hair has a lot of hair styling product then you can wash the hair but not to condition - I wonder is that because its acts like a barrier to hair dyes? And I know usually it's best to leave colouring hair 24 hours after washing to protect the scalp. Just wondering if I was to colour my hair tonight, would it still take the colour ok?

Conditioner closes/smooths the cuticle which is what needs to be 'open' for the colour to penetrate, I'd wait till tomorrow or rewash and 'rough' it slightly with a towel ( no conditioner).

The colour probably won't "hold" or penetrate as well with freshly-washed hair

Yeah do it on day old hair

Also if your scalps too clean the natural oils won't protect your scalp from the chemicals (according tou hairdresser)
