Growing out a fringe

In a rash moment I got a fringe cut I'm now trying to grow it out but it's so messy and awful and hairclips make me feel about 10. Otherwise my hair is in a longish bob and lightish brown. Please, please advise me on how to feel stylish again. And do you think by next summer it will have grown out?

would having some layers cut into your bob help long fringe blend into the rest of your hair as it grows down?

good thinking.

Is it a straight fringe?

If your hair is centre parted, you could move it to the side. Then get your fringe shaped - just cut into a diagonal so it looks lighter and blends better.

If that won't work for you; well, it's getting cold now so you can wear nice chic berets Grin

It will grow out before you know it. Been there.

Mine is nearly there. I had mine cut to one side. It is frustrating.

Yes straight heavy fringe, I've already moved the parting to the side. Berets sound quite Julie Christie - she has always been one of my style icon, but I'd better lose a few pounds so I look more like her. Wink

Then I definitely advice getting the fringe reshaped into a sideswept one; you can do this as soon as it gets below eyebrow length. My hairdresser took one corner off, if that makes sense, and sort of thinned the blunt edges a bit. Hard to explain but it made a HUGE difference - even though it had been cut, it looked longer as it was more shaped. It behaved much better too.
