Sorry I'm St Tropez through and through xx

hollyisalovelyname · 12/10/2014 08:46

I tried the St. Tropez gradual tanner but hated the smell

Does anybody else find it completely useless.
Even the container is not user friendly as it gets really slippy when you have used the product on one leg and about to do the other. The outside of the container gets covered in the stuff.
It smears on and doesn't stay on or dry quickly.
I can't believe it is recommended.
AND I PAID FORTY TWO EURO FOR IT. Sad
I am a mug!!!

I haven't tried it although am a big fan of This Works. But it's waaay to pricey to be anything more than an occasional treat for me. I tend to use the Perfect Legs Skin Miracle rather than a gradual tan. It looks and smells fabulous but is around 40!

hellsbellsmelons · 15/10/2014 16:10

I'm a Garnier Summer Body girl.
Cheap and cheerful and does the job a treat.

peasandlove · 15/10/2014 19:52

Sorry but 40quid is way too much. Can you return it? If it's rubbish for that price id be seeking a refund

hollyisalovelyname · 15/10/2014 20:27

I got it from feelunique.
Not worth the hassle.
I've learned a lesson....
Don't believe the gushing review given by a celebrity journalist.

San tropez (when I bother Wink) here too !
(I like this works body cream though)

CurlsLDN · 16/10/2014 08:09

Hey holly, you should email feelunique! Sounds rubbish.

For what it's worth, I work in pr. Never believe those reviews in glossy mags - if you flick through the mag more often than not you'll find an advert for the same brand elsewhere in the pages, this is not a coincidence! The editorial (journalist) mention is often part of the advertising deal. I know because I'm the evil person who has set these up from time to time (though I don't do beauty). So, read amazon or boots reviews instead.

Ps, I like dove gradual tan moisturiser, smells better than the others

hollyisalovelyname · 16/10/2014 12:39

Thanks Curls. It was a celebrity journalist who gave it a great review in her column

Trear those that same you would a blogger's endorsement, unless you trust the blogger to be honest. I've seen them rave about an item then a few weeks later it's for sale in their shop. Obviously a freebie
