Hush dresses - any good?

The Henley and the Amy have caught my eye in a booklet delivered today. Does anyone have either of these? Are they flattering for someone 5.7 and wobbly? Which would be better? Was hoping they might be good in a 'throw it on over tights and boots' sort of way. How is their sizing? I'm always worried about getting the right size with mail order.
Any recommendations? Or even cheaper alternatives!

Marking place as I want both, didn't get round to ordering them last year by plan to this time!

Oh, I've ordered a couple of things from Hush for the first time! Well, aside from yoga trousers. I've no idea on sizes, but hope they arrive today! I'll let you know how I got on.
I'm 5'8" with some wobbly bits too.
I've ordered the panel dress, ruched mini and sloppy yellow jumper.

I only have one pair of trousers from hush but the sizing was massive. I ended up putting them in a hot wash to shrink them... Blush (and I'm very pear shaped).

SarahBeenysBumblingApprentice · 09/10/2014 18:33

(I'm 5ft 6.5 and size 14 btw)

I have 3 Amy dresses. Love them and wear with leggings and a long sleeve tee

AlpacaYourThings · 09/10/2014 18:49

I've had loads of things from Hush.

The quality is ok, not great in the way that the are quite delicate, IYKWIM. Most things I have bought need to be washed at 30 degrees and then dried flat which is a bit of a pain. Most thins I have bought do look fab on.

I have a couple of Henley dresses. They are nice with boots and leggings, but not exactly forgiving- I wouldn't, e.g, wear them postnatally.

SmileAndNod · 09/10/2014 19:48

Oh is that immediately postnatal somesunnysunday or, like me, 15 months postnatal with a liking for cakeGrin. Glad to hear that you're all mostly pleased with your buys.

I've ordered one of each, in a size s/m. I'm mostly 10 in most shops (apart from zara where they don't seem to do anything that fits) but a I'm quite big IYSWIM. Hopefully it will fit ok, clothes have a tendency not to look quite right on me. Boots and leggings/opaque tights and a long sleeve tee for layering is what I was aiming for.

Fingers crossed.

Hopefully immediately postnatally - maybe the first 12 3 months or so. They were still fine over my 2-babies-not-exactly-flat tummy before (now expecting DC3...)

CambridgeBlue · 09/10/2014 21:53

I've got both and I love them - a black Amy and grey and navy Henleys. I have ordered other stuff from Hush and found it poor quality for the money but these are excellent value - I've had both 2 years now and they still look good. Not sure how flattering they are but they're so comfy and easy to throw on then layer up with leggings, boots, scarf etc.

SmileAndNod · 17/10/2014 19:52

Oh goodness. They've arrived and I can't decide between the damson henley v and burgundy amy. I think I like the Henley but dh says the Amy. Is there one style that would be a bit more versatile? Or do they ever have sales?

mirpuppet · 17/10/2014 21:08

They have sales -- sounds like you should keep them both :)

I would go with Henley as I like sleeves.

Greengardenpixie · 18/10/2014 13:50

I saw this dress and have to say i was tempted. What about your wobbly bits...how did it fit? I have a bit of a tummy myself. I would perhaps be tempted in the sale as i have bought too many things recently.

Imwoodword · 18/10/2014 13:55

From looking at th pictures, I prefer the Amy, looks like it has a bit more shape to it?

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 18/10/2014 14:15

Keep both, the sales were rubbish last year

SmileAndNod · 18/10/2014 14:47

The Henley was quite straight up and down, the Amy was slightly shorter on me and yes a bit more fitted. I pretty much look fat in everything so hard to comment on the wobbly bits, but the Henley especially wasn't that clingy
So a 10% discount (octevent) is about as good as it gets for hush then. Oh decisions....
