Skininies that don't split at the calf

I buy cheap skinnies from New Look, H&M and Primark and without exception, they all split at the calf seam, the single seam not the double one.
I'm size 10/12 with slim calves so I assume it's the cheapest of the jeans rather than my calves.

Can you you recommend skinnies that don't split? Willing to pay up to £40 for them.

I get mine from Next - have never had an issue with splitting seams

Thanks hoop.

When I say split, I mean they pull apart/stretch at the seam so that you can see a stretched white seam IYKWIM rather than totally split apart.

Oh I get this! I double stitch mine to try and stop it, but no joy. I'm guessing it is the cheaper material too.

Never had this happen on jeans, but it is a hazard with pencil skirts when stretched over my massive arse.

I imagine it's down to the quality of the material. If it's a loose weave, or very thin, it won't withstand the stretching.

Before you buy, have a good pull at one of the seams, and if you can see the weave pulling apart then proceed with caution.

I've never had that happen. Mine are all mint velvet. They're a bit more than £40 but if you're not in a rush theres the odd discount code or sometimes they're included in house of fraser sale weekends.

I wear M&S jeggings as skinnies. They're about £25 I think. I've got 3 pairs at various stages of age and none of them have split.

I splashed out on a pair of fat face jeggings. They are the only skinnies I will wear now, and they are most definately worth the £40 price tag. They come in navy, black, charcoal and maroon colour and from what you say about size a 10 should fit perfectly.

Thanks for your replies.

I sometimes tuck a shirt in with a belt so they do need to be jeans rather than jeggings. Has anyone tried Topshop skinnies?
