Hello!

I have measured myself using the mumsnet method and am 31 under, 38 over. I've tried on loads of 32 bras (DD, E etc) and they are all SO tight I feel like I'll pass out.

I've also tried lots of 34 backs and they are really tight too! I tried on a massive 34E yesterday in M&S and could hardly breathe.

I desperately need some new bras for work but really struggling. I've been wearing 34DD so I'm not a loss to the method Grin but they rub under the arms and I can tell they're not really supporting me.

Thank you, o wise bra experts!

There's a glitch on MN at the moment where some first posts can't be seen www.mumsnet.com/Talk/site_stuff/2202863-something-MOST-PECULIAR-is-happening-to-some-newly-started-threads?

This post should now make yours visible!

OK, based on your measurements I would have suggested 30F/FF and 32E/F.

Have you only been trying in M&S? If so, their sizing and quality seems to have gone batshit crazy recently and is very unreliable.

OK, those measurements suggest trying the following sizes:

30F/FF and 32E/F.

A 32DD will feel too tight as there's not enough room in the cup (I suspect that's what's going on with the 32E as well). I'd try a 30FF and a 32F.

Are you scooping?

Mornin' Stats

Also, OP, remember to try on a bra back to front first to test the band. Done up it should feel snug but not painfully tight. If you then put in on the right way round (don't swivel it round, a) it knackers the wires and b) if you can swivel it easily, it's too big!) and it feels too tight, then you need a bigger cup.

F cup! Wow! Thanks so much, I'll go bra shopping tomorrow somewhere that's not M&S Wink and see how that goes. The E/F cups just seem enormous and I really don't feel that big chested...

Yes I was scooping. What a learning curve. Aged 12 M&S told me I was a 34AA, looking back I was probBly a 30C!

If you are going up considerably the new cups will seem much bigger as they will encase more of your chest -on a well fitting bra the wires will normally come round to about half way under your armpit
