Boot help needed

I need help! I currently live in jeans and ballet pumps but now the weather has changed I need to buy some boots but have absolutely no idea what to look for.

I have short legs and a size 16 so not slim by any means and conscious that I don't want to get anything that makes my legs look shorter and chunkier. I do wear skinny jeans which I think look ok with ballet pumps but not sure weather ankle boots will work?

I can't wear knee length boots as my calves are too chunky. I'm also a sahm so don't really want to be running around in heels but I know a heel does help to 'lengthen' my legs.

I'm early 30's and don't want to buy 'mum' boots and go for comfort over style but have no clue what to look for. Also I don't know how to style them, do I wear jeans tucked in? Sitting at just the top of the boot? (Although I think this will make my legs look even shorter and fatter).

I've looked on Pinterest for ideas but everything looks great when you have long skinny legs.

Oh and one last thing, I'm 5' 3 with size 5 feet so I often discount shoes as I think they make my feet look too big for my height!

So, does anyone has any tips? Any styles of boots I could look at?

Thanks.

would recommend \link{http://www.johnlewis.com/dune-percy-leather-mid-heel-chelsea-ankle-boots/p1621258?kpid=233891092&s_kenid=56d3308b-ad4d-a268-7222-00005552c974&s_kwcid=106x50382&tmad=c&tmcampid=73&kpid=233890865\these} they are so comfortable and you don't feel the heel at all. tempted to get the brown again this autumn.

Thanks, I do like the look of the Clarkes boots so will have to go and try them on.

Does anyone feel their legs are too short and dumpy for ankle boots??

I'm 5'3 with size 5 feet an I don't think I've big feet! I wear ankle boots every day.

Thanks Kim, maybe I'm just paranoid!
