help. Dh has said he'll buy me one of these but I can't decide which. I think I love the dark green leather satchel company one as it's maybe more classic? I'm not really fashionable and tend to dress in a timeless kind of way. I'm 32. What do you think?

Sorry I can't do links.

They are very similar! So I think I would be tempted to go for the less ££ option. There are a lot of people on here who have zatchels satchels so hopefully they can come and advise.

I have a zatchels saddle bag and have been pleased with the quality. I haven't kept any satchels as found them too small inside.

I also think the zatchels one is probably not as bright in the flesh - looks like flash bouncing off it making it look bright.

But just reading your OP again you say you love the Cambridge one - so you should go for that one.

Not very helpful, am I? Grin

I've got a Zatchels satchel and while I love the look of it I don't find it holds that much. It's also quite stiff and heavy, actually hurts my shoulder when I carry it for long periods. I don't know if other styles would be any different though.

What Size do you have?

Have a look at the Scaramanga website also. They do some lovely satchels.

Not really much help dh bought me a Cambridge one in yellow, 3 Christmases ago. It's lovely :-)

I've been thinking of using my old school satchel. It's over 40 years old and in brilliant nick. Looks like the zatchels chestnut satchel.
What do you think, would it look on trend or just sad?

cerealqueen · 04/10/2014 13:40

Bee, I use mine! Have had lots of comments about it being the original!

BeeOrchid · 04/10/2014 13:42

Right, dusting it off and giving it a polish up today. Saddle soap or some such. Thanks Grin

I agree with a pp. I also have a zatchels, which I think is a 13inch. It's stiff, doesn't hold much and is heavy. I hardly use it as it was causing me neck/back pain.

BikeRunSki · 04/10/2014 13:51

I have a big (biggest size they do) red Zatchel. I love it,but it holds less than you'd think. I like that it is stiff though, but recommend a "shoulder slider" to spread the weight on your shoulders. My collegue has the Cambridge bright green one; it's lovely colour, but not subtle.

Madaboutthrows · 04/10/2014 14:16

Paper hase currently have some Cambridge satchels reduced in their sale. May be worth a look.

m0therofdragons · 04/10/2014 15:30

Mine's from Leather Satchel Co and I love it. I went with the loch blue one. Would recommend it.

I have 2 of the Cambridge ones, smaller in pink, larger in red. If in doubt go larger, the stiffness inhibits how much they hold if that makes sense. Quality is fab and the one I've had longer still seems to be wearing in.
