Over my chin and mouth. The big sore red ones. Not enough for a doctor to care, but enough for me to feel like shit. I had bad acne until I was 21 (27 now) and it seems to be coming back and I don't know what to do. It's been two months now. Help?

There are only two answers to bad skin IMHO

  1. Decent doctor, preferably a derm.
  2. La Roche Posay Blemish Care Kit. If it it doesnt work, see 1.
If your doctor doesnt care, find a new one. But worth trying LRP first.

Oh I think a doctor would care! Especially if you've suffered from acne in the past. If they are leaving marks, then I would definitely make an appointment to see your GP. Dont put up with bad acne, there's no need to. Leaves physical and pdychological scars.
Meantime, have a look at La Roche Posay Efaclar range.

Apples the typos. Fat finger syndrome on phone.

Peri-oral dermatitis! Course of anti-biotics sorts it. Took me 20 years and hundreds of skincare products/dietary changes to discover this.

Oh jeez! Apologies not apples!

or avene triacneal, great stuff. needs to be taken slowly, don't overdo it.

Get yourself off to gp for a clear diagnosis.

If you're not happy with a treatment plan from gp you can ask to be or self refer to a dermatologist. Try to be referred (it's cheaper).

Don't waste time/cash/expectation on over the counter lotions and potions till you've seen gp/derm.

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo face wash and moisturiser. It has transformed my hormonal, spotty skin. I would suggest stripping out any other skin care and using these two products morning and evening for 1 month. Then maybe a visit to your GP if they don't work.
