What's best short term and long term solutions? Since having baby for some reason my tash has gone darker HmmBlush

I epilate as I used to get the area threaded and go my mind using an epilating machine was basically the same thing, but free! I do it probably every 2-3 weeks and it does sting but not for long. You do get a red rash for a bit though!

Otherwise you could bleach the area (just be aware that some bleaching products cause irritation). You could have it threaded or waxed.

Mine grew when I was 35, I assume as a result of my hormones changing. Very annoying as I had never had an issue with dark hair on my face previously.

GirlWithTheLionHeart · 03/10/2014 15:15

Have it threaded not waxed as waxing thins the skin = wrinkles.

NewEraNewMindset · 03/10/2014 15:16

Sorry long term solutions would be laser treatment. Downside is it can get expensive and you may find you have to have a lot of treatments and the hair might still grow there just finer. You can get home laser products but again it's a pretty big outlay.

Threading. Feels like you're being attacked by a small lawnmower but it's quick and lasts well.

And yes, I too became more Selleck-esque post-children. Lovely.

NewEraNewMindset · 03/10/2014 15:18

Selleck-esque lol. That made me chuckle Grin

Bunbaker · 03/10/2014 15:18

I just pop into Superdrug to have mine threaded when it needs doing. Costs £2.50.

ARGHtoAHHH · 03/10/2014 15:18

YY to threading.

Most of the time I use immac, because I am lazy and skint. But its shit really, I wouldn't recommend it. Usually have to pluck afterwards anyway.

CheeseEqualsHappiness · 03/10/2014 15:24

Is plucking bad? I do that on the thicker ones but fear I may be making it worse

ARGHtoAHHH · 03/10/2014 15:36

Plucking is good! Its just too painstaking for me, takes too long, but its really effective in my opinion. It pulls the hair out from the root.

swingonastar · 03/10/2014 15:45

Get yourself one of these:

Sorted!

Karbea · 03/10/2014 15:54

I use the sensitive skin veet.

Allice · 03/10/2014 16:44

I have mine threaded at super drug too, it's quite public but I don't really care!

Bunbaker · 03/10/2014 17:08

Neither do I Grin

EmilyGilmore · 03/10/2014 17:10

Thread it.

ChocPretzels · 03/10/2014 17:21

I took a pair of tweezers to my upper lip the other week, came through unscathed, no rash or spots.

Longdistance · 03/10/2014 17:32

I dye it with Jolen every few weeks. But, I can recommend threading. My nearest threader is in town, so difficult to get to, so in between, I dye it, which I've done since I was 17 (20 odd years).

BlueBrightBlue · 03/10/2014 17:45

Bleach if you have fair skin. Plucking and threading can cause hair to grow back thicker.
Avoid waxing, had it done once and my skin was red for days.

carriewintermeadow · 03/10/2014 17:48

I bought one of http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00C4QWDUS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 these, a special facial epilator, very cheap and very effective and quick. Definitely recommend it, much quicker than plucking.

carriewintermeadow · 03/10/2014 17:49

Sorry for the link fail, I'm on my phone.

Spidergirl8 · 03/10/2014 19:46

I'm currently getting electrolysis, seems to have thinned it down a little

TuTuTired · 03/10/2014 19:50

I've been having it waxed every 4-6 weeks for ages, but sooooo bored of having to keep it up. Have been plucking for a month or so now bit its so laborious.

Had it threaded a few times but the pain was unbearable, far worse than having a Brazilian [cry].

Really want electrolysis, but don't have the cash right now.

nightswift · 03/10/2014 23:16

Get an epistick - they cost a couple of quid off amazon or ebay so you've got nothing to lose. It will be toe curling first time but much better after that.

lavenderhoney · 04/10/2014 06:55

Waxing- You can wax yourself if you're feeling brave. Use the proper stuff for your face though and have a really good magnifying mirror.

Baby oil also gets rid of stray wax.

Andcake · 04/10/2014 06:58

Bleach every month or so in fact it needs doing now!

Asleeponasunbeam · 04/10/2014 07:00

I go for threading, although have to drive 20 rural miles to the nearest city and hang around in Debenhams waiting. I might think about one of the sticks mentioned above.
