Good curlers to sleep in?

I much prefer having my hair curled but have little time to do it in the mornings thanks to two under 3, but I do have time most evenings to curl and set my hair. Problem is the rollers I have don't give the results I want, I've got this type, and my hair always ends up caught on the plastic snaps and very frizzy.

I don't want big gentle waves, I want curls that I got style into a vintage look. I am a bit crap at pin curls or I'd do them.

I always get a good result using this, but obviously I can't sleep in those.

Any advice?

The type of rollers you are using are the best to sleep in, to be honest.

The frizz could be from a range of things:

• How long is your hair?

If your hair is very long, then the rollers might not be big/wide enough to wrap your hair around without it getting caught. You could try using bigger ones, or using smaller/narrower sections of hair.

• Are you sure you are rolling them properly?

I can't think why your hair would be getting caught in the plastic. Can you elaborate?

• Are you using a scarf when you sleep?

One of the best ways to avoid frizz, and hair getting caught in things whilst you sleep, is to use a silk scarf. You tie it around your curlers to protect your hair from the harsh fibers of your pillow case, and to make sure that everything stays in place. If you aren't doing this, then I would strongly advise you try it.

• Are you brushing your hair out properly afterwards?

There is always frizz (in the videos I've watched) after using overnight rollers. The trick is to smooth the hair out as your brush out the curls in the morning. Many people will also use some sort of smoothing serum or a small amount of product to tame flyaways and the odd bit of frizz.

My DD has THESE and they are pretty good.
They go in hot then I put shower cap over them for her to sleep in.
Sounds like she is only little but she is in face 16!

kay Ah, that's a pain. My hair is just past shoulder length, and even if I used smaller sections of hair I always seem to end up with it getting caught in the bit that clips together. They are the only rollers I ever have difficulty with.

It's usually the ends that end up the frizziest, my hair just seems to knot itself around the roller at the very ends for some reason.

I'm going to try sleeping in curlers now. I usually do mine with GHDs but the thought of spending an extra 20 mins in bed instead is vair appealing.

Haha, unfortunately even sleeping in curlers wont help me there!

Did watch earlier and am now wondering if I should try rag curls?
