Gradual tan

I am going on a girls night out Saturday and need to tan. I usually use fake tan but I have more recently found st tropez gradual tan which requires less effort. I want to start applying Wednesday so I am dark enough for Saturday ( it usually takes a few days to build up ) but what do I do about shaving legs ect? Will need to shave Saturday morning but will it totally take off my tan or can I re apply mid afternoon and not look too pale compared to the rest of me? Also do you exfoliate before every application? Any tips would be good...

Ah yes I've had this problem.
Yes to exfoliate before each application.

How I got round it- gradual tan eveywhere as in the plan.
Then the night before scrub legs, shave and apply real fake tan (ha)
In the morning wash off the guide colour & moisturise lots.
No one will be stroking your legs (I assume!) so it won't be apparent they were done the night before.

And if you need extra top up colour then Rimmel instant tan is brill.
