Leopard Print Skater Shoes

Feel like getting some flat leopard skin shoes - leopard itself is, I reckon, pretty much a classic/ neutral now.

The style I really fancy most is skater - so either these:
www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Womens-Shoes-Boots/Flats/AR649/Womens-Slip-on-Trainer.html or these
www.russellandbromley.co.uk/high-tops-sneakers/skater/invt/104716

I already have a pair of skaters, in a pewter colour, which I love, and which are super comfortable (I'm just recovering from a knee injury).

But just wondering if either leopard plus skater is a bit OTT, or the whole skater style will look too dated, or too summery.

Views, please!

I have Vans - similar but cheaper.

ThursdayLast · 26/09/2014 17:32

I have these

BunnyLebowski · 26/09/2014 17:32

The Russell and Bromley ones are much nicer than the Boden ones.

I vote yes!

noddyholder · 26/09/2014 17:33

They are everywhere I am not keen tbh. They are comfy but thats all and the primark £6 are exactly like the more expensive ones.

polyhymnia · 26/09/2014 17:37

Know what you mean Noddy. Does your disapproval extend to all leopard shoes or just skater? I do actually think the R and B ones would be much more comfortable than Matalan ones because they would be good quality, even if they did look the same.

No I like leopard just I think I have seen too many here over the summer They are comfy no doubt.

Hopefully · 26/09/2014 17:40

I far far prefer the R&B ones to the boden efforts.

polyhymnia · 26/09/2014 17:44

Yes, me too! May just get them and give them lots if wear before they get too passé .

noddyholder · 26/09/2014 17:45

I think they look like the shoes old people wear when they can't get their feet into normal shoes Grin

polyhymnia · 26/09/2014 17:49

Oh dear, yes again see your point!

Not too decrepit yet to get my feet into most things but the injured knee I mentioned ( thankfully on mend) does predispose me particularly to comfort at the moment.

If you are going to get them, go the proper way and get the Vans. The Boden ones are fugly and the R n B ones are just playing at it. ??

noddyholder · 26/09/2014 17:51

I am prob way too old My son has been wearing Vans forever and I have spent hours in the shop over the years so probably colours my view I doubt I am their target market!

ocelot41 · 26/09/2014 17:57

Have you tried Superga Poly? They are an Italian brand, sturdier and longer lasting, and much more weatherproof but not expensive. I have got the bronze ones, would you like the link?

polyhymnia · 26/09/2014 18:18

For Superga, yes please . Have been aware of them but never properly explored them though Im a fan of things Italian,

ocelot41 · 26/09/2014 18:24

They are much more of an autumn weight than my vans. They are a heavily waxed or coated fabric and don't leak in the rain. Am also lusting after some python baseball boots if you want a dekko? Hows the knee going on?

ocelot41 · 26/09/2014 18:28

They are crime London ones.....oooooh (blows kisses to Python high tops) I luffs them but quite ££

ocelot41 · 26/09/2014 19:57

Also quite like these in Olive

But like them in mustard too. I like sneakers, can you tell?

ocelot41 · 26/09/2014 19:58

I feel your pain Thursday

Chumhum · 26/09/2014 20:33

I have some from River Island, they are the ones that are hairy rather than canvas iyswim. I guess I won't be wearing them next year but they do make a basic jeans and t shirt outfit look a bit more cool - I am quite old though.
