Does anyone know where I can get a long waterproof jacket? I really want one that goes down to my wellies, so I don't get rain going in the gap! Ideally with a hood too. Any tips much appreciated.

target dry?

Think seasalt have a long lightweight one too.

Ilse Jacobsen softshell

Patagonia

Thank you! I'd never have found those.

Seasalt do have them, but more expensive than those Target Dry ones.

Didrikson do great waterproof coats and jackets.

I have the original version of this and can guarantee that it is absolutely waterproof (after standing for over three hours in the December rain waiting for a band to come on stage).

It is warm and totally waterproof.

Ohhelp is talking about a drover's coat. Fantastic in really wet weather. I use mine when I pressure wash!

RandomMess · 25/09/2014 21:47

I've been seriously considering a full length wax jacket but these do look like better options...

A drover's coat would be perfect, but I'm not mad on the look of the cape. Although I know that helps to make it properly waterproof. I really like the Belsay Barbour jackets, but they're not long enough! I think I would pay the money though if it was going to last.

I've had my eye on the north face arctic parka and the craghoppers nariko, but can't bring myself to spend the money at the moment as it's still warm and dry here! I like the look (and price) of the target dry coat, but worried that the fabric is a bit shiney and crunchy...

RandomMess · 26/09/2014 11:19

My issue is that I'm so bloody short, I need a petite range tbh - I think even smallest drovers would drowned me Sad

Somanyillustrations · 26/09/2014 11:56

I've just ordered this as it is on sale, so will let you know how long it is on me!

DavenotChas · 26/09/2014 17:25

I'd second the Craghoppers Nariko, totally waterproof and knee length on 5'3 me. Sizing is pretty generous (or was, I have the original)

Bunbaker · 26/09/2014 18:43

I got the Craghoppers Nariko at half price in Debenhams last year. Unfortunately they aren't stocking it this year.
