Jeans Intervention please

I am becoming increasingly disheartened with jeans. I haven't worn any in a year, but used to practically live in them.

The problem is...any jeans I buy to my waist size just DON'T FRIKKING FIT ME.

My waist-hip measurements are 26 and 37. I hugely prefer slim fit or straight leg jeans (though I despise skinnies as I can't bear the carrot leg effect). But apparently I just have an enormous arse? Anything which fits my legs is far too small around my arse and I can barely do them up. Anything which fits my arse comfortably is unattractively baggy on the legs and has a gap between my stomach and the button.

I know my measurements are right as I had a wedding dress fitting recently and they took my measurements for the dress.

I had a pair of lovely levi slim leg jeans that used to fit perfectly, but they started getting baggy so I put them in the tumble dryer. Now, either they shrank in the tumble dryer, or the three kg's I have put on has all gone entirely to my backside. I just tried them on and had those horrible "pulling" lines around the lower end of my arse.

I'm trying to lose a few pounds, but I'm already at the low end of my healthy weight range. I just want jeans to fit me again.

If anyone has any advice I would be so grateful!! I'm only 30, so want to stick to slim leg jeans if possible.

Off to sob into a coffee.

Sounds like these could work for you.

Are you anywhere near London kaykay?

Selfridges does a great fitting service which is free with no compulsion to buy. You book a session with a stylist, tell them what you are looking for and in what price range and they come back with lots of options. It was great. I didn't buy the one they recommended for me there but went home and found it cheaper on line.

If you're in or near London then I'd recommend Donna Ida.
Or ring one of their shops and ask for their advice then order online. They know their stuff.

Thanks Dexter - according to their "highly scientific" quiz, I am a "supreme curve". Although in the reviews people say that this particular cut accomodates a 13 inch waist/hip different, which is a little much for me.

I'll have to see if I can get into any stores to try them on.

My BMI is 19.5. I don't think I've ever been described as "curvy" in my entire life!!!!

BUT IF THEY FIT I WILL BUY THEM

Thanks Stokey and Lucky Saint - the last time I bought jeans I ended up doing just that actually. It was a weekday when I was back in the country and I ended up getting two pairs which I loved. One is the cursed levi's which no longer fit, and the other were an armani black velvet pair. I love them, and can still wear them, but rarely do as I have no clue how to clean them, lol.

I'm not in the UK, and won't be back until Christmas. I'm not based in London when I do go back as well, but I could try and get down there for the day. I certainly have less money to spend this time round!!

Where abouts are you?
www.yoox.com is an Italian site I sometimes use and they have lots of nice jeans. Just ignore the dodgy photos.
