'Tis marvellous stuff.

Did you get the original, semi matt or matt? I'm swaying towards the semi matt but don't know if they're all just as good. Can't remember which one I used to buy.

I've been buying the pressed cornsilk powder from Boots for nearly 20 years but for six months now I haven't been able to find it anywhere and have had to resort to the loose powder which isn't as good (and makes a bit of a mess!) Not sure why it is suddenly so popular!

Coumarin · 25/09/2014 14:35

It'll have been in a beauty column or blog. Plus anything mentioned on here seems to sell out in my local Boots. There's obviously a lot of Mumsnetters in my neck of the woods.

Is it dark as all the reviews say if your pale you should not use it is that true as I really do not want to waste money

AnathemaIsANiceNameForAGirl · 26/09/2014 09:35

tomany if you are very pale it might be too dark. I don't know..? I am pale but sallow (dark-haired) rather than the lovely clear porcelain pale you see on redheads. It is perfect for me!

Coumarin I got the one called "original satin".

Original Satin loose powder is the best. I've used it for 23 years.

Coumarin · 26/09/2014 12:21

Ah I am really pale. Mightn't be so good then. I did use it years ago but I tended to get things to dark for me anyway (teenager).

Anathemals and Kitty Thanks. I prefer loose powder too.

Going to have a google for swatches...

Coumarin · 26/09/2014 12:21

*too

I totally swear by Cornsilk Original Satin loose powder, if I can't find it in Boots, I get it from Amazon.

GilbertBlytheWouldGetIt · 26/09/2014 19:41

Silly question probably but where would they have it in Boots? It's not going to be with the makeup as that's all on branded stands. Would it be with the talcum powders?

Petal02 · 26/09/2014 20:35

In my local Boots it's alongside the Boots own brand skin care.

QueenCardigan · 26/09/2014 21:36

I bought it after reading about it on here. I found it rubbish!

WrigleysBum · 26/09/2014 21:43

I've used it for years. Really good stuff.

I'm pale and the original satin is perfect, really translucent.

Semi matte not good on me as too pigmented, it looks orange and claggy.
