Btw I LOVED Pride last night. A perfect film for a pair of 51 year old lefties (went with lovely friend I have known since back them who had an affair with a miner.) No off-notes; the shots of Gays the Word notice board were spot on.

motherinferior · 27/09/2014 19:00

Both, QQ. He isn't a man for instant gratification Wink.

QueenQueenie · 27/09/2014 20:26

Bodes well then.. once you're back on speaking terms... Wink

We doing the drive to uni tomorrow. Sigh. I'm really going to miss ds. However I've started a part-time course which is going to keep me frantically busy, so I'd better get on with that instead of pining. Rather ironically, ds is chiding me to work hard and meet my course deadlines. Ha. If only he would.

MollyAir · 27/09/2014 20:45

We're

QueenQueenie · 27/09/2014 20:58

Best of British Molly. Stiff upper lip and all that..
Hope it goes well and good luck with your course - VERY well planned to have something to take your mind off things. What are you learning about?

OP posts:
MollyAir · 27/09/2014 21:08

Well, it's in MI's general direction of travel. I'll divulge all to you if you're coming on 11 Oct. Smile I'm very excited but also very daunted. I suppose that's the way with courses; ds probably feels much the same. I've already met my fellow students, however, and am delighted. Hope he has the same experience.

QueenQueenie · 27/09/2014 21:11

Oh yes, I'll be there on the 11th!

MollyAir · 27/09/2014 21:25

Great! Smile Speaking of fellow students, I've just remembered, BTM, that I own this book:

www.amazon.co.uk/Queen-Bees-Wannabes-boyfriends-realities/dp/0749924373/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1411849392&sr=1-1&keywords=queen+bees+and+wannabes

After this weekend, I could dig it out for you and post it to you, if you like? What your dd is enduring is definitely bullying, I am so Angry for her.

hattymattie · 27/09/2014 21:46

Mrs S - I have never heard of Tchip - obv too far out in the sticks. Only Franck Provost here.

MrsSchadenfreude · 27/09/2014 22:40

here you go Hatty and there is deffo one near you, if you look on the map.

CointreauVersial · 28/09/2014 00:57

Evening all. Nice to see you, Wilbur. You have taxes to do this weekend; I really need to get going with my CV if I'm ever going to apply for this job I've spotted. The hardest part will be wrestling the laptop out of Minecrafter DD2's grasp.

BTM - ooh, those nasty girls. Angry

NU - bats in the belfry can be tricky and expensive. Friends of ours bought a run-down house with a view to flattening it and building on the plot, until some sort of rare bats were discovered. They had to first build a detached garage with a specially designed "bat loft", then shell out a four figure sum for a bat expert (bat man? Wink ) to catch and transplant the bats into their new home before they could go ahead and demolish the house. There were dire warnings about fines if any of the critters had come to any harm. All went well in the end, but my friend was distinctly unimpressed about how furry flying things came to dominate the first few months of their brave new venture.

I've been invited to a ball, crepeys. What does one wear? Is a knee length dress acceptable; I don't have any taffeta meringues in my wardrobe.

hattymattie · 28/09/2014 08:05

Hi - I googled Mrs S - there is one in St Germain - I take it tchip means cheapSmile

motherinferior · 28/09/2014 10:36

CV, I have NO idea.

Mr Inferior and I continue to feel horrid and coldy and knackered. I must do some music practice....

Rosebag · 28/09/2014 11:14

CV I tend to wear full length but that's because I'm less confident about my legs these days. I have worn ballerina length to May Balls though. Maybe the organisers can tell you if there's a dress code? I've got quite a few full length creations if you want to borrow? (...but I'm a fat size 14.....)
Good luck to Molly for the trip to uni today.
We are taking advantage of Caff Rouge's 25 % off today and going out for brekky. Waiting to see DHs face when I want to order something that's not included in the voucher....( I don't like fry ups...) and the kids are nagging for extras Grin
Happy Sunday crepeys.

herbaceous · 28/09/2014 11:20

TWO kiddy parties today, one 12 til 2, and one 1 til 3. Fortunately, they are round the corner from each other so easy to accomplish both. DS is going to be like a whirling dervish by the end of all that.

MrsSchadenfreude · 28/09/2014 11:58

Hatty, that would be my guess! I used to go early and queue up with the old ladies. Smile They don't do appointments, but you can usually get the same stylist if you ask, and they tend to be less busy in the middle of the day.

CV - for the balls in Paris, it was definitely a case for the women of "anything goes" and the younger ones didn't wear 80s stylee meringues, but more smart dresses.

lalsy · 28/09/2014 14:01

Just popping in to say hope all goes well today, Molly.

bigTillyMint · 28/09/2014 14:07

Yes hope the goodbyes go well.

We are on the train home. I am feeling very tired (no idea what time we actually got to bed but it was well after 2, having listened to My Way - good ole Frank) and a little fragile. Was great to catch up with friends I haven't seen in years though.50 is definitely the new 21Wink

MontserratCaballe · 28/09/2014 15:38

Very behind with everything but wanted to wish you well, Molly. Take care and be brave.

beachyhead · 28/09/2014 20:45

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend. It's been so hot here today, can't work out if it's my old lady flushes or just an Indian summer....

CointreauVersial · 28/09/2014 22:48

God, it was fabulous today, wasn't it? I sat in the garden for most of the afternoon leafing through bathroom catalogues, while DH pootled about washing cars and mowing the lawn. And nothing makes me happier than being able to dry five loads of laundry on the washing line.

I have a day off tomorrow, but nothing thrilling planned. DD2 has an orthodontist appointment early afternoon, so I'm contemplating the annual pilgrimage to the High Temple of Costco in the morning.

Thanks for the ball-wear advice. I'm thinking I might get away with the Phase Eight dress I bought for goddaughter's wedding. It isn't a particularly high-society event; it's a fundraiser for two daughters of an old friend of mine, who are hoping for treatment in the US for a rare condition. They are both very poorly. Sad

MollyAir · 28/09/2014 23:10

Thanks for your good wishes. It all went OK. [trembley smile] Tomorrow I have to post a big parcel of all the stuff he forgot, and then crack on with some therapeutic coursework. This uni business is hard, though, for us and for them. Solidarity with other crepeys with newly absent dc.

MollyAir · 28/09/2014 23:11

And, as I have just been reminded, the Shoutiest One is still at home.

bigTillyMint · 29/09/2014 07:17

MollyFlowers

I am feeling quite renewed after almost 10 hours sleepShock
