Menopause? Ha! I laugh in your general direction! (spoken in dodgy French accent a la Monty Python). I have not had a period for 15 months, no more flushes or rages, the calm after the storm...I didn't quite get around to HRT - seems a bit pointless now. Do I dare chuck out my mooncup?

Herbs - everything about the new school sounds sooo much better than the last one.

Well done with your lunch, Rose, sounds like it went well.

Rudy, you're right, not married - we were living in sin!

Rose, I can only dream of getting annoyed with my nails getting too long - they are so flaky they never get to any length (although they are looking longer than they've ever been atm!)

Rudy, is she waitressing? I would have been so rubbish at that - my forte was bar work!

CV Envy

DD actually said her day was "fine" yesterdaySmile However, we have the mad dash oop North and back tomorrow, so I predict a bit of moaning!

I did indeed mention S&B (see what I did there?) love them.

Have horrible cold which impeded sleep. Have to interview applicants for something today. Urgh. No Ladyjog. Will walk through London instead.

Poor you MI - ruddy colds everywhere ATM . I blame the back to school thing: mass germ spreading . Had my flu Jab this morning. Now swollen up like a big hot egg on my arm.
Happy weekend crepeys. I am, as ever , working sat and sun.

Must get a definite list for the meetup so I can confirm with Mulberry man.Grin

BTM, wish I was coming - wistful.

DD and family were supposed to be going away today with her inlaws and all their families. DGD2 was sick twice in the night so that is off atm - they will review tomorrow. Her Sister in law has an 8 week old baby so DD may not get away - I feel so sorry for them as they haven't had a break for ages.

DH has gone out with his cycling mates for the day: bliss as I have the house to myself - lots to do but I will enjoy the peace!

NU that's a crying shame for them.
And sorry not to get to meet you this time. Sad

So BTM that looks like approx 17-20.
Ok will work with that. If there are last minute drop outs I'm sure we can cover the cost between us- it'll only be a few quid extra as we have been quoted £10 pp

bigTillyMint · 26/09/2014 11:10

NU, it is a shame that you aren't able to come. Fingers crossed for your DD.

Cremo, great! What time did you say it was booked from?

Just noticed from the school emailing that DD2 is going on a trip to Belgium next month. She hasn't mentioned this to me. When do the forms have to be in? Today... grrrr.

Report
MrsSchadenfreude · 26/09/2014 12:51

And the forms are on the school website as a pdf, which I can't edit... if they were word documents, I could complete them and email back to the school today.

Can I just say here that I fucking hate all of these forms from school, the same form has to be filled out for every trip, with medical details and contact numbers. Why can't we give permission once, that doesn't change, unless there is a change in circumstances?

Mrs S you are so right. I sure there's some whizzy way of saving a PDF as a word file. Someone will know....???

Report
MrsSchadenfreude · 26/09/2014 13:01

DH says to print them off, complete them, scan them and email them back, but that seems rather convoluted. Especially as I don't know how the scanner works.

Just had another anguished call from DD - some girls were going round the dining room giving labels to each group and called DD and her mates the outcasts. Doesn't look like it's going to stopSad DH is going to ring the school (despite DD saying not to - wants to talk at home)

I just don't understand it - DD and her friends are pretty, friendly, normal 15 year olds. What is it that makes them a target for the bullies?

Report
bigTillyMint · 26/09/2014 13:46

And she actually went off to school happy this morningSad

NUFC69 · 26/09/2014 14:13

Oh, BTM, that's awful; I am so sorry, poor girls. I would be beside myself with anger. I hope DH gets some answers from school. For goodness' sake they have only been back at school for a few weeks. Flowers

I have had a phone call from DS: they have just received the the surveyor's report on the house they are buying. There is a possibility that they're are bats in the loft. Sad If there are they will have to arrange and pay for the bats to be moved to another site. This is in a house which was built in the 70s. Oh dear.

MrsS, I hope you get the form sorted out.

Report
Rosebag · 26/09/2014 14:18

Oh Tilly it's because they're pretty, friendly and normal. It sounds a bit more like gang problem now and the school has to act. Hugs and Thanks
MI get well soon. I have so far dodged this virus that seems to be going around. But DS2 has had man flu all week and yesterday at the lunch DNeph came, but sat suffering under a cloud of Freshers Flu. I wanted to isolate them and hand out bottles of hand sanitiser...yuk.
MrsS I share your rage. And I can never find the dates of my kids jabs..how the hell do I remember? DH does all the ParentPay stuff and leaves all the annoying details to me Angry... In triplicate.
I am out with DD. we have had a lovely walk in the park in lovely weather for this time of year.

Returned from my first bit of 'proper' teaching! It was only about 30 minutes, but it's tiring, isn't it! Feedback from 'mentor' was basically that I gabble, and make too many jokes. Can't say I disagree!

Good finds in the charity shop near college - a beautiful Autograph pure silk skirt in a kind of Aztec pattern, for £4.50, and a long-line stripey cardi. Autograph again! They're both 14s, so might be a bit big on the new slimline me, but I'm sure a 'dear little man' could take the skirt in. Or I could flog it on ebay.

BTM - so sorry to hear the b*tches are back. It must be so wearing for DD to have it hanging over her every day.

MrsSchadenfreude · 26/09/2014 14:33

Agree with Rose - it's because they are pretty, friendly and normal. What are the dear little girls like who are doing this? I bet they're none of those things...

Report
bigTillyMint · 26/09/2014 14:50

Thanks guys - I know you are right, but I just don't get it at all. I wasn't bullied and don't remember anyone getting bullied at my secondary school, although maybe some were.
And it's such an infantile thing to do - they are 15/16Angry

Agree about the dates for jabs - I keep thinking I should note them down when we have them...

Rudy, unfortunately the bats will be a problem because DS intends to do a big renovation which will involve taking the roof off, I think. I know that they were talking about having to move out for 4-6 months for all the work to be done. My reaction would be to ask the sellers if they would go halves because the problem will still be there if DS pulls out of the deal. The bat expert is coming tomorrow to have a look.

Oh BTM, those girls really need to grow up. That's a ridiculous way to behave. I am Confused as to why any 15/16 year olds would think it a clever way to carry on. Am Angry for your dd and her friends. The school really needs to sort something out. Hope your dh gets some results.

BTM, they sound vile.

I have been interviewing candidates for an organisation I assess for today. Nearly fell asleep at one point - I didn't find that candidate as compelling as everyone else did.Grin Am heading home and will then go out again for splendid Indian meal and showing of Pride with v old mate.
