Find me a wedding dress?!

Please?!

I have looked and looked and I have found nothing but I am a bit shit at knowing where to look and what to look for so it may well be entirely my own fault - I have some criteria that I don't want to move away from but other than that I am begging for some ideas!

My criteria are -

1 - With sleeves, I have fat arms
2 - Not white
3 - I am fat all over (see point one!) so nothing floaty or clingy, I need scaffolding to hold it all where it should go!

So, anyone seen anything nice?!

Where are you based? It's better to go to boutiques and try different styles on. Sometimes you might like something that you didn't think was your style.

For very different wedding dresses, try www.kellyewing.com

When you say not white, how not white do you mean?

Diane von Furstenberg lace

Vicky5910 · 21/09/2014 19:35

I had a list of things I wanted for my dress but then I tried on the dress and I loved it.
It was something different, beautiful, and I'd never have picked it if I had seen a picture of it!

feelingmellow · 21/09/2014 19:36

Joanofar - how are these wedding dresses?

joanofarchitrave · 21/09/2014 19:37

I know it's white but could be flattering IMO

JaquelineHyde · 21/09/2014 19:38

How tall/short are you?

How booby are you and if very how much are you comfortable with having on show?

What type of wedding are you having and at what time of year?

How far from white do you want to be and does the wedding have a colour scheme?

joanofarchitrave · 21/09/2014 19:39

Confused a wedding dress is a dress you get married in

the OP will soon say if this is nothing like what she is looking for

GodPlayedByJamesMason · 21/09/2014 20:02

I'll have a quick look at those inks now, ta!

I'm 5' 7" ish so not short

An E cup so fairly booby but not overly nork-y and don't mind having my chest out a bit but don't want mega-cleavage, don't want legs out either and arms covered

Its at a local landmark and then a village hall so not church or stately home dress codes to consider, I guess fairly relaxed although the ceremony venue is a bit "grand" looking so it can't be mega-casual

Its September next year so shouldn't be too problematic in terms of weather

Bridesmaids are in green

I don't mind the "ivory/champagne/gold" type dresses but not white or pale particularly - quite like lace

Does that help any?!
I seem to be missing the bridal gene and have no idea what I want!

what about this, OP?

I quite like the top and I love the fact it has sleeves but the bottom is a bit "princess-y" for me I think...

Julia by So Sassi. No idea of price I'm afraid.

tethersend · 21/09/2014 20:53

What size are you and what's your budget?

tethersend · 21/09/2014 20:54

Do you want full length or would you consider shorter?

GodPlayedByJamesMason · 21/09/2014 22:46

About an 18 I guess, will try and lose a bit before the day but am realistic, am not gonna be a size 6 anyhow!

Budget is not set yet, preferably in the hundreds rather than 1000s though!

I think I'd prefer full length tbh...

Something like this sort of thing?

Or this?

I'm assuming you don't want any other colours...

tethersend · 22/09/2014 23:19

This is nice...

tethersend · 22/09/2014 23:26

So's this

GodPlayedByJamesMason · 23/09/2014 00:19

That hoss one and not on the high street are the closest! The NOTHS one is possibly a bit too booby and the boss one not enough but they're definitely the sort of thing I'm looking for!
Been looking at House of Mooshski dresses too as I love them but they're way out of my budget
