Eyebrow waxing nightmare

I had my eyebrows waxed on Thursday, someone I've been to loads before. They often go a bit pink but I actually think I got burnt this time - not sure if the photos show but they were bright red and are now peeling. Nightmare because I was at a wedding yesterday! Any advice on how to get them to heal? Also should I be complaining to the lady? Not keen to go back to be fair! Do you think the wax was too hot? Advice appreciated.

They look a wee bit burnt to me. Arnica gel applied to the area should speed up the healing process. Have you had your eyebrows threaded before?

Clarabumps · 20/09/2014 22:37

Did she go over the area once with wax or a few times?

ALittleFaith · 20/09/2014 22:40

Yes *claraI I had them threaded about six weeks ago (tried someone new but wasn't overly impressed with the results.) can't really remember but she may have gone over more than once. Arnica, of course. Will stick it on the shopping list.

Sudocreme. Amazing for calming shit down.

Clarabumps · 20/09/2014 22:44

Ah, then it could be that. The skin on your lids is terribly delicate and a waxer should only go over the eyelid once. If she has gone over it even twice then it can take a layer of skin off leading to some damage. Or it could just be that the wax was too hot and has burnt your lids.
Arnica should sort you out. It looks sore though. I would mention it to the waxer, you don't have to complain as such but you could just let her know that your lids were damaged so she's more careful.
And perhaps find another waxer.

Clarabumps · 20/09/2014 22:45

Nerf you could use that as the new advertising campaign. I'd buy it.
Sudocrem is also great- fab on bums and eyelids.

BadcatBertram · 20/09/2014 22:48

Yes to Sudocrem. I had a very painful reaction to eyebrow waxing and it really helped.
