Does anyone else get days...

... when you feel "wrong" in the outfit you chose for the day? The individual items might be ok and you like them in general, but that day they just feel all wrong and not like you want to feel that day?

One day this week I actually had to make an emergency trip to TKMaxx for a new top between work meetings because the one I had left the house wearing in the morning felt so wrong.

I definitely get days like that because after some recent weight loss and a few light bulb moments over the summer, I'm still working on my personal style and am not quite sure what works for me out of current trends. So I often just miss the mark I think, but I'm enjoying the finding out!

I do get what you mean and I would change or it would be off to the charity shop with it.
More likely the latter as I own stuff that I really like and would prefer over the ok stuff and these days I'm ruthless in getting rid.

Caitlin Moran said something like, when you say 'I have nothing to wear' what you actually mean is 'I have nothing to wear for who I am today'. That about sums it up I think.

"When a woman says, ‘I have nothing to wear!’, what she really means is, ‘There’s nothing here for who I’m supposed to be today."

Had one today. Put a dress on and then ended up changing out of it 30mins later

Madaboutthrows · 20/09/2014 16:08

Yes. The same with makeup too!

I love that Coumarin, that's exactly how it is for me.

I think everyone does. I also sometimes get ideas from other people. I saw this women with a blue dress and yellow cardigan and monkey see monkey want. I ordered myself a blue dress and yellow cardigan off ebay. I always seem to have a different favorite color every week. Last week it was orange, so went out and brought an orange cardigan bag and accesories .
I remember a few months ago though. I though I looked fine in the dress I have on, but I saw a women in town and she looked gorgeous. I suddenly felt like an old frump, I could have cried. (I hate anyone looking nicer that me. I'm very competative in that way. I'd even have the audacity to upstage the bride) Anyways I goes to simply be and buys myself another dress and puts it on in the shop. I binned the old frumpy dress. (Shudders)

Oh all the time. I'll feel ok and then go out and see another woman wearing exactly what I should have worn.

She'll generally be younger/thinner/prettier than me too. Oh I do love getting older Wink
