winter shoes for work

Suggestions please, I wear flats but they are no good in winter for walking across site in cold and rain, last year I didn't know what else to get so I just ended up trashing my shoes! I wear trousers every day so don't want calf high (or higher) boots.... not found ankle boots, any ideas?

How flat do you need?
I am usually found in flats, but can get round the office in these, tho not sure I'd make it across a site, if you mean building site or factory by that, rather than an external, but properly made path.

Tbh I'd be inclined to get boots or even wellies for outside stuff and save my shoes!

Site is from building to building so not a building site, laid pavements but outside, 20 minutes walk too and from buildings depending on meetings, I don't want to swap shoes and carry wellies into a meeting!

I bought a pair of ankle boots from Clarkes last year & they are so comfy. I bought some scholl cushioned insoles to go inside & I've walked miles in them without a blemish.

Either ankle boots or leather lace ups which are flat but enclosed. Someone on here recommended buying M&S boys leather lace up school shoes, which are 25 cheaper than the adult equivalent.

Ankle boots is the way forward then - M&S and Clarks both have inoffensive ones for a reasonable price.

Geox waterproof? - I and DS and DD all like Geox and as a make they seem to be good at keeping out water
