Hi all! Is there a cream that I could buy from boots/pharmacy that will help numb my skin before epilating?

Tattoo numbing cream would do it but the tubes are quite small. You'd have to buy loads to cover your whole legs for epilating. Maybe ice your legs?

I was having a mooch on the web and apparently haemorrhoid cream numbs and people have tried that saying that it helps Blush

Glass of wine works for me :)

If it's your legs, you do get used to it quite quickly- just need to try to hold the skin taut. If it's bikini or armpits I can't help you- far too painful for me :D

Legs ? Just crack on. I find the first few strokes are the worst - then my leg kind of goes numb. ??

Armpits and bikini line - ouchie. I used to follow kerberos tip - glass or two of wine and grit teeth!

Emla cream is what you're thinking of. You can get it over the counter these days but it's expensive and comes in small tubes. I used it pre-electrolysis and it works a treat as long as you put if on a good 45 mins pre-treatment. HTH.

E45 anti-itch cream

Not just regular E45 though.

I just cracked on in the end! Exfoliated and let the epilator at 'em. Did my bikini line which was less painful, but ice been having that waxed for years so it's probably used to it. Thanks for the advice!!
