Superdry Leather Jacket.

I have tried quite a few biker jackets and concluded I don't really suit them. I have just bought this www.superdry.com/womens/leather-jackets/details/42979/megan-skinny-jacket and prefer the shape. Biker jackets seem much more popular though, does this look dated?

well I love it

msmorgan · 14/09/2014 10:36

I like it, DH just said it's alright which wasn't much help. I also got this www.superdry.com/womens/jackets/details/36221/hacking-knit-blazer which he doesn't like but I love, the inners detachable, it's lovely and cosy.

I ordered both from the ebay outlet store for a total of £139, I was quite worried they'd be copies or damaged but they're fine. I don't usually look in Superdry but they have some lovely jackets and coats, I thought everything had the logo emblazoned all over.

I really like that too! I might go check out their store. I like superdry, I wouldnt wear their tshirts because of the logos, but I had a pair of their biker boots a few years back and they were awesome, and also a hoody that I still love. The quality is lovely

msmorgan · 14/09/2014 10:43

Yeah, they do seem really good quality. I thought all of their stuff was aimed at teenagers.

I'd googled the leather jacket from a Pinterest pic and found the ebay store. Mines in a dark olive colour, which I actually prefer to the black or brown, it must be last seasons but I'm not bothered by that.

Well I never thought that as the first time I heard of superdry was David Beckham wearing the 'Brad' leather jacket, not unlike yours Grin

msmorgan · 14/09/2014 11:04

I think it's just because where I live it's where teens ask their parents to buy stuff from, I'd always thought it was a bit chavvy!
But when I've had a look they actually have some lovely things.

I've seen that pic of David Beckham in the jacket, I thought him and the jacket both looked good, and it does look very similar to mine.

well anything can look chavvy depending on how it's worn, take Burberry for example Grin

msmorgan · 14/09/2014 12:08

That's true. I wasn't bothered where the jacket was from, I just liked that particular style, and it seems good quality leather.

Hate the leather jacket it's really crumpled and looks tight , love the hacking jacket that's now on my christmas list.

bishboschone · 14/09/2014 13:50

I have a brown superdry jacket similar to that which I've had for about 5 years . It's fab ,I like the style and fit and the leather has just got better .

msmorgan · 14/09/2014 13:54

The leather is sort of crumpled, kind of vintage looking, and it is quite tight fitting. Tight fitting suits me better, I'm short and a size 8, looser fitting leather jackets looked too boxy on me.

I have a black biker from Miss Selfrdge, it's nice but I hardly ever wear it, it doesn't seem to go with much in my wardrobe. I love a couple of the Mint Velvet jackets linked to in another post, not sure they would suit me though.

I have the same jacket, msmorgan, it makes a nice change from the traditional biker style, sometimes all the metal studs can be too much.

I did use black marker pen to colour in the 'Superdry' tag though Blush

msmorgan · 14/09/2014 14:20

I'm not keen on visible tags but found that as long as it's not zipped right up the collar covers it, it a coppery colour so not too visible anyway.

Don't like the leather jacket at all, sorry. It looks cheap.

Do like the hacking jacket though.

ThisBitchIsResting · 14/09/2014 16:04

I tried the leather one on, they had one in TK Maxx that had the Superdry badge missing. It fitted beautifully and really flattering, I did personally feel a bit 'street' in it though which isn't my usual look. Really flattering shape though.

PetalToTheMetal · 14/09/2014 16:07

Ooh no. That looks as if it's from Primark.

msmorgan · 14/09/2014 16:44

Well I've worn it now so def keeping it. I have it in last years dark olive which doesn't seem to be as shiny or quite as crumpled looking as this years.

I always feel I look a bit "street" in bikers, especially black ones, that's why I went for this.

My style is very casual which is why it suits me . I was in the pony club when I was young and always rode . The hacking jacket is way to equestrian for my liking .

msmorgan · 14/09/2014 17:38

My styles mostly very casual too. At the minute I spend most my time at the park with my toddler, doing a house up and walking our dog. I don't get much opportunity to dress smartly.

I do have quite a few blazers which I tend to wear when I go shopping, out for coffee/lunch etc. I'm planning to wear the hacking blazer with skinny or bf jeans and ankle boots so quite dressed down.

I like it; I have a Boden blazer in similar black washed soft leather. Would be perfect fit for petite ladies.
