Tights for next week

Hi, I'm working at a very smart conference in Central London next week. The dress code is skirt suit or shift dress and jacket and "heels are essential".

It's going to be fairly mild so with black shoes and a black or dark grey skirt, what sort of tights should I be buying? I think my usual opaques might be a bit school-like for this scenario.

'Heels are essential'?? What if you can't wear heels? Not very professional to be collapsing at the feet of the conference-goers, which is what would happen to me.

I vote for good quality 15 or 20 denier black. I loathe nude tights, especially with a dark skirt.

This will be either Navy, Black, Dark Grey shift dress and jacket; or skirt, shirt/ blouse and jacket. There are no exceptions and inappropriately dressed people will be sent home as this is an exceptionally CORPORATE function.
Heels are a must, but please ensure these are comfortable as you will be on your feet for all of the day.

Christ, I'd have issue with that contract. Can't believe that's a clause . I have no issues with heels but would have issues with it as a requirement!

Anyway, I would suggest nude tights too.

OP is an Events Coordinator for Financial Conferences. I'm not mad keen on the skirt/heels either ....

That's a very strange dress code (not very professional). Surely most of the men won't have heels?
