Peep toes and hosiery

With the weather turning chillier the time for bare legs is over for me. I like my peep toe courts and have several pairs. I keep my toe nails painted, but some of my friends say they would never wear hosiery with peep toes. I feel happy with my brightly painted tootsies still visible under sheer hosiery, but am I making a fashion faux pas?

Waiting to see the verdict on this, personally if the shoe is not wholly closed in I would never wear hosiery. I would switch to closed in courts for the winter and save the peep toes for next year.

I tend to steer away from peep toes but have some gorgeous vintagey heels and some Melissa viv westwood ones that look fab with nude fishnets.

Normal sheer tights and open toes make me think of Grannies in Clarks shoes...

You can get tights with an open toe, M&S do them.
They look very odd without a shoe on though.

I think it's a good idea to wear hosiery too I have several pairs of peep toe courts and I think it all depends on matching the color of your pantyhose and shoes.

I like the look of contrasting colour tights with peep toe shoes - red shoes purple tights etc. But I'm not sure I'd wear sheer with them unless they were the ones with the open toe. But it's getting too cold for that now

I would say very much a fashion faux pass. However, providing that your shoes are what they say (peep toes) and not displaying all of your toes. Also providing your nails are painted in a very bright and statement colour like red or burgundy , and most importantly that your tights have a sheer toe and not a shadow toe or any visible seam, then you might just get away with it. Also you must make sure that you dont get any snags or laders in your tights around your toes !

It's absolutely fine to wear tights with peep toes, they always were worn with tights.

No tights is fine in the height of summer, but at any other time it's a faux pas not to wear them.

Bare legs outside summer is the most ghastly Britishism.

I agree, no tights except in height of Summer is ghastly! No problem with peep toe and tights as long as they are sandal toe or toeless.
I wear toeless tight occasionally and they are great but don't wear them if you will be taking shoes off cos they look odd!
I go for dark colour paint in winter which looks nicer with peep holes than bare or French in my opinion
