Raspberry pink coat

I bought this coat last year but stupidly bought the wrong size and it was huge so regretfully I had to return it (at vast expense!). Now I realise I should have bought one two sizes smaller but at the time I thought it was that the coat was just unflattering on me so didn't try and exchange it. I'd still jump at the chance to buy one as I love the colour and shape, but don't think I will find one as it's a small label, so has anyone seen anything similar? Or have any idea of where I might be able to stalk find one secondhand?

The closest I've seen are this and this. THe jigsaw one is out of stock online but I doubt wither of them would quite cut it.

silversixpence · 10/09/2014 23:04

I am considering the Toast one but it isn't as nice a cut or colour as the Emerson Fry one and is also quite pricey! I'll have to go and see it in real life.

Not the same cut but Ted Baker

TortoiseUpATreeAgain · 11/09/2014 00:23

Tara Jarmon but not quite the right pink.
Loire (wrong cut and colour...)
Marella (better?)

silversixpence · 11/09/2014 00:31

I am considering the Marella one but it's not quite right either, thanks though! The Ted baker ones are a tad bright for me, I am rather fussy and the original coat was perfect (on the model...).

so I emailed Emerson Fry and they have the coat - but only in a size 00! But having used the True Size calculator on the site apparently either a US size 0 or 2 are a good fit so I am going to chance the 00. It is a relatively bargainous $75 so I am wiling to risk it! Is there any hope of it fitting??

I remember you buying that coat OP Grin it is lovely and I think def worth a try at that price, you can always sell on ebay if no good. Its quite a loose style so it may be ok.

silversixpence · 11/09/2014 22:17

Justasecond are you on MN vogue then, can't believe you remembered that debacle Grin I like your optimism!

iirc you have a crafty blog? you are amazingly talented so I am sure you could work some magic on it to make it fit?

justasecond · 11/09/2014 22:31

Do report back when it arrives, really hope it fits!

silversixpence · 11/09/2014 22:37

yes that was me with the craft blog (now quite neglected!). I will definitely report back, hopefully customs don't slap another charge on it. I might venture back on MN Vogue but it cost me a fortune last time!

Come join in, I have just gone back on after a break although iswym re costing a fortune!

silversixpence · 19/09/2014 19:13

So the coat came today and it FITS! It's not even tight and I will easily be able to wear a jumper underneath if necessary. It is beautiful too. Glad I took the risk but have no idea what Emerson Fry are thinking with their bizarre sizing.

Now I just have to wait for the customs charge..

That coat is lovely OP

hollyisalovelyname · 20/09/2014 09:10

Gosh Emerson Fry is expensive.
Three hundred and twenty five dollars for a cotton cardigan!!!!!
Mumsnet is funny (peculiar) - you have those who have expensive taste and deep pockets and those who chose New Look etc.
It takes all sorts.
It's nice to be on a site with such divergent tastes.

silversixpence · 20/09/2014 10:02

Yes it is expensive, there are some beautiful clothes so I don't think I'd buy anything full price, but if I can get my dream coat for a fifth of the price then I'm happy Smile

I read somewhere that you should try and buy better quality bags shoes and coats even if the rest is cheap (most of my wardrobe is high st!). I'd rather have one or two items I really love than 10 that are not quite right.
