Where's the bra fitting thread?

Just had a look and can't find it.

I need new bras - my current ones are gaping around the cup. I've just measured myself and I am 32" under bust and 36" over bust. Currently wearing a 34D. Can someone tell me what size I should be wearing?

Did you measure as per The MN bra gurus way

If you did - you should start with a 32D

Loueytb3 · 10/09/2014 11:58

Not exactly - I think I need to check again later on. I'm at work at the moment and I might get some odd looks if I try and do it there. Grin

I can't believe I might be a 32" - I never in my wildest dreams thought I could get to that size. I still have 36 and 38" bras in my drawer!

Ok so I measured the MN way last night. I'm definitely a 32" underneath and I'm either a 37 or 38" on top, depending on how tight the tape is supposed to be. I think that puts me at a 32dd or 32e??

Do standard shops even sell those sizes??? I was going to go to M&S or John Lewis at the weekend...

don't go to marks and spencer!! their bras are rubbish and their fitting is terrible!! dd and e are very standard sizes.

SorrelForbes · 11/09/2014 08:27

JL will definitely stock 32DD/E. If you scoop whilst wearing your current (34D) bra, do you get overspill/quad boob? If you do, then you'll need to try at least an 32E and be prepared to size up again in the cup depending on make and style. You may want to try some different styles in each size (e.g. balconette, plunge and full cup) to see what works best for you.

Make sure you scoop!

beccajoh · 11/09/2014 08:30

DD/E cups are really normal sizes. Almost every high street shop will sell bras in those sizes.

Loueytb3 · 11/09/2014 10:06

Oh good, I'm glad they are not unusual sizes! What are Debenhams like? That's my other option.

gymboywalton - I know M&S fitters are not to be trusted but I didn't think their bras were rubbish?

SorrelForbes - I do try and scoop and I don't have quad boob with my current bras.

So basically, I'm looking at trying 32dd/e (and possibly d or f) and several styles to see which fits the best. And scoop!

Am quite excited about going shopping, even though its going to cost me s
