Where to buy jeans?

Is it still skinnies everywhere or has something else arrived? I'm shortish, size 10-12 with a tum, so low-waisted looks awful. Where to go, what to do?

Selfridges. Whole floor of them ...

BiscuitMillionaire · 09/09/2014 22:41

Oh, that would mean a trip to London.

Or try house of Fraser, J Brand jeans are the best shape for 10-12 with a tum, I am the same.

TheJourney22 · 09/09/2014 22:46

And I am short too

BiscuitMillionaire · 09/09/2014 22:50

OK thanks I'll check that out.

I must have tried on at least 20 pairs of jeans this last weekend so desperately bumping for some good ideas Hmm

M&S, New Look, Gap (nice 1969 ones but I'm in between sizes Confused), Dotty P's, every brand available in Debenhams and John Lewis (including NYDJ at £££) and finally settled on a pair of slim leg from Next for £20! Not overly happy with them but they were the best out of the lot.

I get so hot and bothered in changing rooms that I've given up hope of my ideal jeans.

BiscuitMillionaire · 09/09/2014 22:52

Yes I loathe changing rooms too.

Journey are the J Brand ones big or small. Did you need a 10 or 12. I am between 10-12 too depending on brand.

MrsPMT · 10/09/2014 13:57

For a good budget option, I recommend New Look high waisted skinnies, they are a really good fit, imo and keep their shape well.

leedy · 10/09/2014 14:20

J Brand are fairly big/stretchy, I'm between sizes and go down for J Brand. They're similar enough sizing to Levis if you know your sizing in those?

BiscuitMillionaire · 10/09/2014 21:20

Thanks MrsPMT. Not sure if I can bring myself to spend £200 on J Brand ones.

bought some skinnys from Asda,at £16 they look fab and are great value.

Eastpoint · 11/09/2014 05:51

Rag & Bone are cheaper than J Brand & v gd. Still £££ but £180 rather than £260.

Elllimam · 11/09/2014 06:18

Asda, loads of styles. There is even just a normal straight legged jean you can get them all in short leg and they only cost £10-30 xx

Ruby London has a very good rep (online firm). I have been looking for ethical replacements for my NYDJ ones which have lasted 5 years and am going to try them. Monkey Genes looked good for those who liked skinnies but, like the OP that ain't me!

AmberNectarine · 11/09/2014 07:48

I have about 30 pairs of jeans, mostly high end i.e. J Brand, Goldsign, Paige but recently I've found myself buying topshop more than anywhere else. The Jamies and Baxters are really good.

elephanteraser · 11/09/2014 07:58

tk maxx, try on as many brands as you can. i think certain shapes suit certain brands. zara jeans fit me perfectly. uniqlo is worth looking at but they are quite long
