Makeup - where do I start ??

Hello Beauty Gurus !

I have recently been thinking about starting to use makeup, but have no idea where to start. YouTube has loads videos on how to apply makeup, but I really need advice on what to buy!? Right now I am feeling overwhelmed with all the products out there (what the he'll is a primer and do I need one ! )

I am 30 and have combination skin (oily T zone but no dryness anywhere else ) I am Indian with brown skin.. Occasional breakouts.. fairly wrinkle free till now (touchwood) Suffer from dark circles...
Till now all I have is a double wear foundation sample which unfortunately isn't an exact match for my skin tone

Any recommendations on where to start would be great ! Thanks

I have that BB stick foundation and I think it's very good. I used it when I was younger (30) and since I've been 40.

Do you mean a concealer for your circles or some topical cream that will lighten them?

Frankly I doubt I'll have time in the mornings to put on a concealer.. I was hoping to get recommendations for an eye cream that I can use daily that will keep the skin around my eyes moisturiser maybe eventually reduce the dark circles...
