What does her husband do to subsidise her fashion and home improvement/interior design spending!?

fanjobiscuits · 09/09/2014 19:39

What is DMBL40?

Nothanks18 · 09/09/2014 19:41

Sorry doesmybumlook40 blog!

I think he's a lawyer in London/the City?

MrsCampbellBlack · 09/09/2014 19:41

I don't know - none of our business is it?

But I know plenty of people who have nice houses and decent wardrobes. I also assume she makes money herself via her blog/personal shopping business.

Nothanks18 · 09/09/2014 19:44

Just wondered....I know well cashed up people but very few spend like she seems to. Have to say she does it very we'll..... Her home looks lovely!

OP posts:
VioletBrogues · 09/09/2014 19:44

I'm not sure its relevant.

Nothanks18 · 09/09/2014 19:46

Supposed at how much personnel info/ pics of family some bloggers promote

OP posts:
Nothanks18 · 09/09/2014 19:47

Should say surprised!

MrsCampbellBlack · 09/09/2014 19:58

I do think she reveals too much info on twitter. You need to keep boundaries if you blog.

Nothanks18 · 09/09/2014 20:03

I think on are right Mrs PC a bit too voyeaurish for me sometimes!

I thought she just did a whole month of not shopping at all? I was feeling guilty reading it because I did go shopping Grin But regardless, not sure what her husband has to do with any of it?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 09/09/2014 20:30

I find it really odd that some people can't go just one month without buying anything. Some months I buy loads, and other months nothing - it hardly seems a big deal to have managed a whole thirty days without splashing the plastic.

Nothanks18 · 09/09/2014 20:31

Can't believe her blog salary allows for this level of spending on clothes/home/lifestyle. Just doing a reality check.

OP posts:
Karbea · 09/09/2014 20:53

I really wish she'd show more lifestyle home stuff, I really liked it when she showed things she'd got for her house before, I think she was/is doing an extension, I'd like to see how she's styling it.

But yes I think she said before he is a lawyer in London.

Nothanks18 · 09/09/2014 20:56

Thanks Karbea.......her home does look lovely, would love some link for home decor from her.

Shopaccordingly · 09/09/2014 21:48

I'm not saying it's a big deal to go for a whole month without buying something, just more that I probably wouldn't regard somebody as shopping excessively when they've just done that. Not that I'm one to talk anyway on that subject!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 09/09/2014 21:53

No, I know that's not what you were saying. But some people on here (and in the blog world) really do seem to think it's either a completely impossible thing OR something to be all glowy and proud about it, if, by some strangely unusual sense of willpower, they manage to achieve it.

TortoiseshellSpecs · 09/09/2014 21:59

She probably gets a load of stuff free / promos as a result of her large readership, eg her recent 'gifts' after announcing that she was staying an extra week in her hol cottage and had nothing to wear for the 2nd week (despite washing facilities in the cottage...). Plus she blogs a lot of stuff she likes but doesn't buy most of it.

I don't follow her on twitter or anything though, so no idea what she does/doesn't say on there.

burnishedsilver · 09/09/2014 22:06

She buys expensive bags but plenty of her clothes are high St and often on sale. I don't think she buys as much as it appears. There are a lot of returns and planned purchases that don't come to fruition.

PrimalLass · 09/09/2014 22:21

I've "known" her for years on t'internet and she's never done crazy amounts of buying.

GeorginaWorsley · 09/09/2014 22:26

It's my favourite blog anyway.
I agree Kat spends wisely rather than too well, to misquote Othello! !
Her post today on shirt dresses features new stuff she hasn't yet bought plus stuff she already has

yorkierocks123 · 10/09/2014 07:54

I would love to know about her how can you not be interested or nosy?? I always want to know what she is really like and what her husband does and stuff like that - I know it's not relevant but still ……

I don't think she spends like crazy and yes no doubt a lot goes back or is free as well.

I'd also like to know what she did before she was married as well guess jour no/writer/mags or something??

Yes I know I should get a life - I do have one honestly!

AmberNectarine · 10/09/2014 08:17

I don't think she spends that much does she? If she does then I must be utterly profligate.

remus you're clearly not naturally covetous like me - I usually see about 12 things a day I need!

vjg13 · 10/09/2014 09:18

I do like the clothes side of her blog but I think she should be slightly more wary about some of the personal stuff she posts, house renovation, restaurant recommendations etc. I do like it that she is very honest when she has been given freebies.
