Anyone bought from Madeleine.co.uk?

I'm looking for decent quality classics and don't care about labels. And I need a winter coat.

Anyone rate them? I've never heard of them before

I got a catalogue delivered (no idea why as I hadn't ordered one and had never heard of them in my life) and was a bit aghast at the exorbitant prices and how utterly hideous most of the clothes were. It's a no from me, I'm afraid.

I am vaguely curious about them though, as it was a really well-produced fairly large catalogue, as though they's been around for ages - who are these Madeleine people?

They have a weird mixture of things that are absolutely ghastly and other things that are fine. They're good for jackets & puffas & basics like pencil skirts. But I can only infer German fashion is erm different.

Never tried one of their coats, you can only order it and see.

This is odd as I was googling a few style ideas the other day and this Madeleine place kept coming out top on the list - they've obviously had a big marketing push this week .

My DD is called Madeleine so it made me go "oooh, fancy that."

The models have the same "glossy" look as Kaleidoscope models in the 80s and 90s. That is surely warning enough. Big blow dried hair and elasticated waists.

My mum did but sent it all back as poor quality & not worth the ££ ... :(
