Well fitting jeans for under 50 quid. Is it possible?

So I'm looking for a new pair of jeans as I'm fed up of hoiking mine up every two minutes. They are the jeans I wore in my last pregnancy (14 months ago). I feel saggy and baggy anyway and they make me feel worse.

I'm not good with jeans, but I'm pretty sure I can't wear skinnys unless with long boots as I'm just too wide. I need bootcuts don't I? But I only ever wear long boots, converse or birkenstocks (yes I know this is s&b).

So are there any places I could try? Ideally want a dark wash, not a low rise and under £50. I usually have trouble with jeans gaping at the back if they fit my large behind.

Thank you

I like tesco jeans I have a size 10 bum and 6 hips and they seem to be the only ones that I can get over my bum that don't end up resting on the too and showing things I'd rather stay hidden

Just got some George ones, straight fit. Ten quid, and they remind me of the jeans I used to wear as a kid in the 70s. Just normal, you know?

Gap are good quality at the moment. £45 ish

Crackedhouse · 08/09/2014 18:22

At £80 this is over budget, but I really recommend Levi's Bold Curve jeans. I have wide hips and a narrow waist and they fit perfectly, are so comfortable, no gaping at the back and I can crouch down and stand up again without having to hoik them up!

They are more expensive but well worth the money IMO if you wear them a lot. If you live near an outlet shop you could get them cheaper.

I've just bought Nexts boot cut jeans, good fit, £28 and they're quite dark. They did have some at £48 which were a lift and firm design which looked nice!

I have a respectable waist with a massive ass and thighs. Am a size 14 if the cut is right. Best jeans for comfort and fit have been an $11 pair i bought in a clothing emergency from Walmart on a recent us trip. I'm seriously considering ordering more online!

I found a seller on ebay selling fat face jeans. They're brand new, last season. full price 55 but 15 Inc delivery through them. They're the only pair I've found that fit my waist without a belt, don't cut me in half round the hips or glue themselves to my enormous thighs Grin oh, apart from new look high waisted ones which are very soft and stretchy and have lasted me years. ... The only thing from new look I've ever liked!

Try M & S the £35 ones with stretch made in Egypt. Incredible fit and quality however I have had some hit and misses with their jeans (cheaper ones not good) and the sizing is all over the place. Set aside half an hour and try everything you like on. I have a very small waist and large hips so jeans are a never ending quest!

Stupidhead · 09/09/2014 00:46

I got an email from Sports-direct/USC and they have quite a few pairs of G-Star jeans for under £40.

Mmeh · 09/09/2014 02:38

I can't recommend h&m jeans enough. They do a nice collection of skinnies and straights - which you should try! Go for the regular low waist ones in a dark wash, at around the £30-35 mark. The £35 are their 'luxury' specially fitted ones.

Lots of links around at mo including one for 25% off one item...Smile

Yes to Levi's curve range! I never used to wear anything else, I am also a thin waist -big hips kind of figure and these were the only jeans that fit. however I only ever bought them in trips to the USA as they are about 50% less than in the UK. It's beyond me why Levi's are so expensive in Europe, generally.

But! I recently discovered that Next jeans are a perfectly good substitute. I have the skinnies, the posh or luxury kind or whatever they are called - the opposite of relaxed fit skinnies (which I also have for weekends and walks). They fit beautifully, cost around £40?

I am in the USA right now and haven't yet gone to a Levi's store, such is my satisfaction with the next jeans!

Old Navy. An American store that ships worldwide. I got some corduroys from there - true to size, great prices too.

HeyMicky · 09/09/2014 04:51

Next lift and firm. Small bootcut but will fit into long boots. Nice high waist, keep their shape and the dark blue is very flattering

BiggerYellowTaxi · 09/09/2014 08:11

H&M are currently doing buy one get one half price on their jeans at the moment.

Pollywallywinkles · 09/09/2014 09:16

I've tried other makes of jeans, some well over £50 but I still keep going back to Next.

ZaraW · 09/09/2014 10:12

I love Cheap Monday their fit and quality of denim is great. Zara is also good.

MrPop · 09/09/2014 11:23

You can also get good deals on premium denim on asos.

Look here for mih

I also got some Levis from asos a while back for £27.

Shame that their summer sale is ending now as most of the bargains have been snapped up.

I've also read that anthropologie slashes the price of their mih denim as per this blog

Thank you, lots to look at there. I think I'm going to have to bulk order to try on at home. So I should maybe try a straight leg then? I did have h&m maternity jeans which I loved, can't think why I've not thought of looking there. I was measured at a levis store years ago but found it all a bit scary so not sure I'd want to do that again.

So I'm going to try next, h&m, fat face, marks and gap. Bound to be something in five shops. Not sure I would fit into anything in ZaraSmile!
