What type of boots do I need?

I'm clueless when it comes to shoes, but need some ankle boots for winter time that will be super comfortable, but go with skinny (ish) jeans and possibly skirts (although I have long boots I'd normally wear)
I have big legs and need them to be fairly flat and comfortable as I get hip pain.
These look so comfy but will they look terrible?

Someone I know has them. She's in her 60s and dresses her age... YMMV.

Have a look at Clarks, the Orinoco something ankle boots look nice and comfortable.

Have a look at Jones the Bootmaker - I got a gorgeous pair of brown ankle boots there last year - small heel but they are the most comfy boots I've ever owned, they look great over skinnies or with chunky tights and a dress and despite almost daily wear in all weathers they still look brand new

What about these:
Schuh biker
I've ordered them and they arrived today. I like them but there's not much gap around the too with my calves in them...
