In need of a LBD

Size 14, needs to have more than a capped sleeve but can be short. Ideally not mega clingy/bodywork though am open to suggestions. I don't know what my shape is, I have regular sized boobs, wide hips and am 5'8". Nothing backless. High street budget.
But definitely black.
TIA Thanks

I can't link but I saw a nice one on the river island website yesterday. It has lacy sleeves and is a chiffon a-line shape to just above the knee.

BreadForBrains · 07/09/2014 09:01

Thanks, never even considered river island (I buy my dds clothes from there sometimes!) but they have some nice dresses. If only my arms weren't so bloody chubby, there were a few I liked.

What's your budget?

This is nice but pricy.

I'm going to work through your suggestions one by one. Bear with me...
The first one, Mansfield something is really too clingy for me. The second is a bit plain on first glance. Style and shape I actually like, but I'm looking for something a bit special. Thank you for your help, I'm not trying to be difficult!

I love the asos one! I'll order that anyway :)

Don't like the Reiss one, not keen on the pleats and would need longer sleeves.

BreadForBrains · 07/09/2014 12:14

That Cos one is a bit shapeless even for me!!

It's so hard to get dresses with sleeves isn't it? I hate my arms and usually end up wearing a little cardi with all dresses.

noddyholder · 07/09/2014 12:19

Love the sweetheart one Wonder if its any good for boobs?

BreadForBrains · 07/09/2014 12:21

It's a bloody PITA! I got absolutely rageful in the summer trying to find summer dresses with a sleeve. Even light floaty sleeves. Nothing. We aren't all slim and the right shape for a bloody tea dress y'know?? Hmm

BreadForBrains · 07/09/2014 12:35

Noddy I'd love it if it were short. Or anything above knee length. It looks a bit middle aged to me, but I think it's just the length that makes me think that, the rest of it I really like!

tethersend · 07/09/2014 12:35

could you do a 12?

noddyholder · 07/09/2014 12:54

I dont think its old fashioned at all Its a bit Victoria beckhamy I have similar skirt top combo looks fab with winklepickers

noddyholder · 07/09/2014 12:55

I am old though Grin

BreadForBrains · 07/09/2014 12:56

Tether I'm hoping to be a 12 by the time I need it! Not weighing myself, it means losing a stone in a month though I reckon for it to be a true 12... I'm a week down, 3 to go. Been spinning twice a week, walking 30 miles a week and eating very healthily so fingers crossed! Don't want to pin my hopes on it though, so realistically aiming for a 14.

Grin Noddy!
I bet it really suits so frames and shapes, mainly willowy types, however I have a habit of making clothes look awful, hence needing black all the time so I don't stick out any more like a sore thumb than I do by default Grin
