I've always fancied a biker style leather jacket. Any recommendations for a nice soft leather and black or tan?

Have a look at Mint Velvet -got a nice grey one from there last year. Whistles leather jackets are really lovely, but expensive - what's your budget?

I love the ones in All Saints but they're painfully pricey.

My mother bought me a beautiful Gerard Darel one. So soft, totally unlike any I've had before. It was about £350, far more than I'd spend myself. I suspect that this is what you have to pay for really soft and well cut, lined and quality hardware.

Believe it or not m&s had some nice ones, the styling was not to my taste, but they were fairly soft.

Banana republic have a lovely one £275

I'll have a look at all of these thanks.
I don't mind paying a bit more - I'm hoping that if I get the right jacket that it will do me for years. Is the poncy term 'investment piece' Smile

DH always asks what income my 'investment pieces' are generating... so I've learned to avoid that terminology around him! Have fun shopping Smile

The ones from Oasis are good, and can be got quite cheap in the sales. Mine is similar to this one but in chocolate and at two years old is still looking good.

I recently bought this beauty in the Mint Velvet sale. The leather is gorgeous and the colour is lovely. Black made me look a bit too, 'Old Goth.'

If you are willing to spend a few hundred, have a look at The Outnet, you could get something which would originally have been twice the price or more and the leather could well be softer and higher quality/more ethically sourced and dyed and consequently last and age better.

Grazia are bound to do a 25% Whistles discount promo soon, I think you can use it on their leather jackets. They did a lovely Rick Owens-a-like last season that I'm regretting not snapping up.

I found a fan on by Gharani Strok in TK Maxx for £80! (smug)

If I had the budget tho, I would look at MuuBaa
