Is this going to kill my teeth? Confused

My teeth are reasonably white as it is but could definitely be better, I have recently had a root canal and some fillings though, is this going to mess them up?

Any experiences appreciated!

I have only bought 10 strips as I don't think they need a lot.

I used them every 2-3 months roughly for over year, pre-pregnancy, and I had no problems at all, no sensitivity .... but I have never had a filling and have incredibly strong teeth. My dentist didn't tell me off for using them either, so I don't think they're too bad.

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 06/09/2014 09:22

I don't actually have bad teeth at all, the fillings apart from one were preventative so there shouldn't actually be any bad teeth to damage, the root canal was an abcess and I don't have a crown, so I'm hoping for the best!

Will give them a go when they get here, did you have a noticable difference in colour?

do they work on crowns?

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 06/09/2014 09:39

No, I had a look and they just don't do anything to crowns so the rest of your teeth would whiten, but not the crown.

Had a look on the crest website and they seem to be safe on fillings. Phew.

I received this in a plastic bag with no instructions. Can anyone tell me how long the strips should stay on for? And should they be used every day?
Thanks

I have sensitive teeth & gums but had no problem with these.

I use them for half an hr before bed after brushing & flossing - that way a bit of the belly coating stays on overnight.

I use them for 5 nights in a row then a weekly top up.

NewLeafExpat · 06/03/2015 10:45

I would say don't use them after brushing - personally i felt my gums were too sensitive after brushing and then the strips would hurt them if the gel leaked out onto the gums that were freshly "scratched" by my toothbrush?

I used mine about an hour or so before brushing, for about a week and then random top ups whenever i got a chance.

the Yanks seem quite happy to allow and sell these, although they are not famed for their sensible teeth.

the before-and-afters are hilarious though; clearly no difference apart from using a flash on one photo and not the other, and done on what were already clean white teeth.

apparently ok for teeth but might damage gums.
