Friend is very ill with cancer, mainly in bed. She wants some comfortable black leggings- however she is getting abdominal swelling, that comes and goes, so I am looking for something with a soft waistband. She is about a 12-14 but has asked for 14/16 I think to make room for her swollen tummy. Anyone seen anything like this? Maybe I need to look for yoga leggings?

Would maternity leggings work?

draw string waist?

I would go for Boden Maternity leggings in a size 12. Lovely and soft, seams are not noticeable and should stretch for the swelling fine.

Sorry to hear about your friend.

My boden leggings are soft -- but I would size up so they don't grip her tummy.

Sorry to hear about your friend. I would recommend Next maternity jeans or leggings.

I will go and look at maternity leggings, but I am a bit worried that they might upset her as she has a baby Sad. I thought maybe a fold over waistband type would work- I will go have a look at Boden anyway.

Her DP has just texted me and said not a fold over waist, I'm not sure why. think she means just thick cotton lycra type rather than thinner ones like footless tights.

www.johnlewis.com/mint-velvet-ruched-leggings/p1549146 wide waistband

hellymelly · 04/09/2014 18:19

They look good! Hopefully the ruched bit won't rub? She has tender skin everywhere since chemo. I will buy some of those as they are also cotton, which she wants, whereas lots seem to be viscose now. Thanks for that link.
