Really like her baggy crotched denim jeans/trousers she wears on GBBO. Anyone know where they are from or anything similar?

That is funny, I was after her yellow jacket... Smile

Cornflakesnmilk · 03/09/2014 21:25

I haven't watched GBBO yet - is it these shown in pic half way down page?

www.express.co.uk/news/showbiz/486288/Mel-Giedroyc-reveals-exclusive-GBBO-secrets-about-Paul-Hollywood-and-Mary-Berry

I saw Mel in rl the other day - she had similar cut trousers/jeans on.

DottyP · 03/09/2014 21:36

Yes that's the style! - she obviously has a few different pairs of the same type. The ones tonight looked a bit darker. Any idea where they are from?

I'm sure this is not Mel's jeans label, but I have some Sainsbury's boyfriend jeans that are v similar. (Especially because you really need to size down and I didn't!)

Primadonnagirl · 03/09/2014 21:53

I was just about to start a thread asking why on earth she was wearing jeans that made her look like she had pooed herself! Sorry but these are not flattering!

frankietwospots · 03/09/2014 22:00

I've seen her wearing Boden stuff and the odd thing from Top Shop. There may be some Zara in there too, certainly with Mary Berry!

DottyP · 04/09/2014 08:08

I thought they were very flattering on her! Particularly with the boxey tops and blazers she wears. They just seemed a very light denim material - almost chambray. I'll have a browse....

They are like jeans from the 80'sGrin

I think they suit her style. I wish they'd both front something else on Telly like they used to, they are so funny together. Mel and Sue that is, not her jeansHmm

Withmyfeetinthesink · 04/09/2014 11:34

I am so out of touch Sad. I thought they were awful and made her look far older than her years . . .

That probably means I need to go buy some of them as I seem to have got it completely wrong Blush.

CambridgeBlue · 04/09/2014 15:15

Agree they are 80s jeans - like the ones that used to have an elasticated bottom! I can't imagine how awful I'd look in jeans of that style but surprisingly they suit her very well.

I love Mel and Sue and think they both dress really well in a way that's appropriate to their personalities, ages and the situation. Wish I was as good at it!

domesticslattern · 05/09/2014 20:19

Ooh thank you Jacksonville

peasandlove · 06/09/2014 00:40

this should be on the frumpy thread Grin

JeniJones · 06/09/2014 00:42

They look like old man jeans usually with a big old man tummy hanging over. ha ha.

clickers123 · 06/09/2014 04:17

I noticed them but couldn't decide if I liked them or not. Oh I remember baggies from the eighties. I had some grey ones with elastic bottoms. I wore them with blue heeled sandals. Those were the days.... (Drifts off dreaming of favourite red beret.....)

GobblersKnob · 06/09/2014 07:07

The cut you are looking for is probably a loose 'mom' jean, like www.asos.com/river-island/river-island-light-wash-mom-jean/prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=4282036&clr=Lightauth&searchterm=mom+jeans&pge=1&pgesize=36&totalstyle=51&gridsize=3&gridRow=1&gridCol=1this or this.

There are also www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Girls-9-16yrs-Trousers-Jeans/Jeans/92142/Girls-9-16yrs-Boyfriend-Jeans.html?NavGroupID=19 these which I have from a previous season and they are a lot baggier around the thigh and bum than they look on the model.
